Ever wanted to have a counter that is more than one tile thick? With this code, the game will keep checking for counter tiles, in a straight line away from the player, until the table/counter ends.

Simply insert this code into Game_Player, starting with line 165:

        # Allow for table-counter
        b = 0
        while b == 0
          if $game_map.counter?(new_x, new_y)
            # Calculate 1 tile inside coordinates
            new_x += (@direction == 6 ? 1 : @direction == 4 ? -1 : 0)
            new_y += (@direction == 2 ? 1 : @direction == 8 ? -1 : 0)
          else
            b = 1
          end
        end

If your Game_Player script is unmodified, you can replace it with mine:
