Up until May 2010, RMRK had a long-running tradition of recognizing a Project of the Month. While there were a number of reasons for retiring that system, it was never for a lack of excellent projects; RMRK has been around since RM2k3 and has a long history of being home to some of the most distingushed and talented amateur game designers in the RM World. It is once again time to shine a light on the talent of these individuals by recognizing, celebrating, and encouraging these game makers, while at the same time giving beginners example projects to which they can aspire. For these reasons, I present the new Project of the Season award!

Projects that win this recognition will have their project stickied for the entire season, and will be featured on the homepage. More importantly, perhaps, they have bragging rights and may publicize that they received this award anywhere.

Selection Process

Selection is simplified from the old Project of the Month voting and is now a two-part process. First, over the course of a week, members of RMRK+ Advanced nominate projects that they believe are worthy of special recognition. All of the projects that make it through that nomination process are then put to a community vote, which will last for three weeks. Vote carefully, as this will be your only chance to see the project of your choice become Project of the Season for a whole three months.

Criteria for Nomination

  • Any project posted on RMRK, whatever genre or maker, is eligible for nomination
  • RMRK+ members are not permitted to nominate their own projects
  • It must be either finished or have substantial progress with evidence that the creator is actively working on it
  • A project cannot win twice
  • A creator cannot win twice within the same year, counted from the date they win

These rules may be clarified or added to if a need for them arises.

I'm putting the finishing touches on the writing part of the demo's soundtrack. Mixing should only take me about a month, and then my part's done for now!
