quick queestion about scripting

i kinda wants to  learn to script in rmxp, so i am just wondering if it would help to learn basic ruby before i start learning rgss

yes. RGSS is an API for Ruby, so learning Ruby is learning RGSS.

so if i can program using ruby i can program in rgss?

If you can program in any Object Oriented language you can probably program in RGSS.

i can do some c++ and i did make games using python + pygame but cant remember if any of those are objekt oriented
