(I hope I got this in the right area)
This game that I've uploaded (More of a mini game) is a pilot engine for a bigger game I was working on in the past. Sadly the game never got finished and most of my progress was lost. I was able to dig up this demo version of it just recently.. I may try to start a new game based on this engine again; provided I can ever find the time to do this :P

Game type: Side Scrolling Shooter (Space theme)

Controls: Horizontal, Vertical, Diagonal

AI: Moves at random; somewhat difficult to defeat

Theme: You take control of a ship, your enemy is a ship as well. Destroy the enemy ship while evading it's lethal fire.

Music is: Necrofantasia (I think its from touhou or something like that)

There are a few bugs I never got fixed in the pilot engine, but it still makes for an entertaining pass time..

(Edit: I've removed the download link here, go to my next post down to get the latest version)

Well.. I've decided to revive this project. Over the last few days, I've been fixing bits and pieces of it and I even got the CMS working. I'm re-releasing the download as an actual demo. It's still the same enemy you fight (I still need to make the other enemies; and I can barely remember how I made the first one  :P ) but this version actually includes the CMS. I haven't begun work on the story mode yet, mainly because I haven't finalized a plot. I do know it will be eight chapters long (Eight Levels). Eventually as the project progresses, I'll probably add better weapons for the ship you control. But for now, enjoy the demo until I get some of the chapters built in

(BTW.... If anyone knows how to get this topic into the "RM2k/2k3 Projects" category, I'd love to know; It wouldn't let me post it there... Unless I missed something)

(edit: Below is the Download Link and a snapshot from the CMS)

In the next release I'll try to have a better weapon system, as it is right now you can only fire one bullet and cannot fire again unless it hits the enemy or leaves the screen... Based on that, here are some tips to beat the enemy:

1. Stay directly on top or beneath the enemy; it cannot hit you with the spread shot in those areas...

2. Attack when the enemy moves to the bottom of the screen..

3. Get in close and fire rapidly before it fires again..

(Edit: As far as difficulty goes, I don't plan to dilute it much more.. This project pays homage to the classic shooter games of the past, most of which I found rather challenging... But it will be balanced to make for a fair fight :P )
