Sign-ups are officially closed, but this doesn't mean you have no chance of participating! If you are still interested in joining, send me a PM and I will discuss it with the guild leaders. Please include what your RPG Maker abilities are and an example of work (if any) and roughly how much time per week you could spend working on a project.

[spoiler]If you're interested in participating in the guilds this year, post here saying so and what "job" you'd like to have (basically what your RPG Maker skills are).

Guild leaders will later choose teams, so this is just to compile who we have and what they can possibly do. Guilds will begin January 2nd, 2010.

EDIT: PLEASE INCLUDE HOW MUCH TIME PER WEEK YOU COULD POSSIBLY SPEND WORKING ON THE PROJECT. The amount will not necessarily prohibit you from participating if it's low, but leaders need to know what to expect from their team when planning things out. If you've already posted, just edit your post.

EDIT 2: PLEASE INCLUDE EXAMPLES OF YOUR WORK IN YOUR POSTS IF POSSIBLE. This will help guild leaders determine who to choose when they go for teams. If you've already posted, just edit your post.

Gonna quote Halo from the last years guilds as for a description of the "jobs".

Quote from: HaloOfTheSun
GUILD LEADER: In order to be a Guild Leader you need to be ORGANIZED. You are essentially the hub of your team; all work on the game will be sent to you and you need to be able to keep track of it, as well as what needs to be done next. Unless worked out within your guild, the guild leader will likely be the one to work on the database. Guild leaders will also choose members to be in the guild.

SCRIPTER: Creates custom scripts. Gathers scripts.

MAPPER: Makes the maps. Will probably handle most of the event work unless worked out within your guild otherwise.

WRITER: Writes the story. Creates ideas for side-quests, etc. Important that you can come up with a story quickly, as most of the work cannot be done until there is a story.

ARTIST: Creates custom graphics. Gathers resources.

COMPOSER: Writes custom music. Gathers other music.

EVENTER: Works on events. Some will most likely be fairly complicated, so be sure you have a decent knowledge of eventing.

Of course, keep in mind you are welcome to do more than one job. Just make sure you are capable of handling all your tasks. Also remember that while it would be great to have all custom sprites, and a custom battle system would be cool, that you are under a time limit. There's nothing wrong with using RTP or other resources.

Hmm... I think that's everything. Let me know if I forgot something.  :D

That said, I'm willing to join again as EVENTER and/or WRITER.

EDIT:

Lessee, I can spend a good amount of time on it but not sure the exact number. A very minimum of more than 10 hours a week. If you need examples of my eventing, just check out the current project in my signature, and for my writing, uh... last year's Gold Team's story is a good example of my work.

@Halo - are you going to be taking on a role as a moderator again this year, or do you want to be more hands off? Because if neither you nor anybody else wants to do it, then I might be up for that role. Otherwise, I'd sign up as a SCRIPTER

I do much of everything except scripting and story-writing. I'm particularly good at mapping and eventing. I prefer VX over XP. I wouldn't like to specifically be guild leader but rather I'd like to be the Director of Mapping or Eventing ~ or both if need-be within a very small guild. I would imagine that the director of each department would be some sort of guild leader, if not some sort of assistant/co-guild leader. If I join a guild that's using XP, then I'd just prefer Director of Eventing since I haven't mapped in XP for a very long time and I know others here that are much better at it than me. I would post examples of my work, but then I could just tell you to open up VX Event Systems, VX Tutorial Database, or the VX Resource Database sub-forums since I generally flood in there.

tl;dr - Asking for MAPPING or EVENTING in VX (but not saying no to XP)

Edit: Can double as an ARTIST as well. (I'd rather not be the artist and instead be the art director and coach or fine-tune resources.)

Obviously I'm going to have to oversee this to some extent for creation of boards, adding late joiners (if any, we only let a few in last year for special reasons), and filling any other random requests that only admins can do. I'll probably still spy on both guilds and see how things are progressing and just overall watch from afar just because I find it interesting even if I'm not involved.

So pretty much what I did last year because we didn't make it much farther than that.

You would be much better suited for the job, however. So whichever you prefer, I'll leave it up to you.

The question is, what will the "moderator" do other than enforce whatever rules there may be? Are they a judge of some sort? That's still to be discussed, but if so, then no I'm not going to be doing that.

I guess I really don't know how to answer you because I'm not sure what the duties the moderator will have this time. :P (sorry for the long and rambling post)

NAMKCOR and I would both like to co-lead a guild. I think we're more than qualified.

I'd also do some mapping work as well.

EvilM00s

I'd like to offer myself for writing and modest mapping, and I can do a pretty decent database.

What the hell, put me up as an artist. Is there a more concrete date than just 'this year'? Like, will it be next month or something :x

It will probably be in January or February unless there is more discussion on the matter.

I'm interested, this looks like it'd be fun. I could be either Eventer or Artist, or both.

Edit: I could easily put in 2+ hours a day working on the project during the week, and 10+ hours on the weekend.

These are my examples:

Falcon

I might consider co-leading a guild (I'm not doing that shit by myself). Either that or sign me up as a scripter/mapper.

Kokowam

LOL THIS AGAIN? :P

I think I might be an eventer :P I don't remember doing anything last year or w/e. >_> Irock did everything, lol.

You were a composer but there were already like 3 other composers so you had nothing to do.

What kind of time commitment is required for this?  I am working two jobs and trying to make another game in the process.  It sounds interesting, but I won't join if it's going to be too demanding and I end up regretting it or not able to pull my weight.
Always remember you're unique.
Just like everybody else.

Jonesy

Interested as a writer with some minor to medium eventing.
I'm much too lazy to put an actual signature here.

I guess ultimately it's up to whoever your guild leader may be. If they're fine with you working on the project only when you can, then by all means join and just do what you can. Since guild leaders choose members later (we don't even know for sure who the leaders are yet or how many there will be) I can't give you a definite answer. Perhaps those who are "applying" for the position can give us a post.

Irock

I'd choose the most talented member that can dedicate a fair amount of time to the project.

Time commitment isn't a big deal, as long as you do the work. The only reason I got on some people's asses for my guild was because they would make huge promises that the game relied on, then they didn't deliver. I'd say you should probably be good with putting in (at minimum) maybe 1-3 hours a week, unless you want to take on a huge part of the project.

Also, we should ask members how much time they could put in per week, so that the guild leaders have a good idea of what they're getting. It'd be terrible to pick a scripter or artist first, then to find out they can't do very much.

Silek

I gotta say, I'm I would be interested in something like this.

Although I am not sure how desirable I would be to a team. I like to think that I'm a decent story writer, and I have some(albeit limited) mapping experience in RMXP.

I'm not super experienced(and I've never completed a project, nor have I worked with a team before), but this is something I'd really love to give a shot!
