Hey, Im Cloudraidis And Im New Around Here And Wanted To Introduce Myself, But I Have A Question? Yada, Yada, Right, Now To Get Back On Topic, I Am Using Rpg2k3 and have a NPC who when you enter the first town and talk to him he gives you a potion, or something etc. Then he uses magic to vanish. Well my question is how would I make it so he won't reapear when I leave the town and come back, I have looked around bit could only find something that works with XP. I have the erase event at the end but I can leave and come back and get unlimited potions by doing this over and over.

Any Help Would Be Great, (Even Links to other post)

Thanks,

Cloud

Use switches for this sort of thing.

I'll give an example for it.

NPC:
Message: "Hello here have an item and I won't give you any more"
Add item Megalixir + 1
Switch operation: [001 Item received] ON

Then make a second page of the NPC event. Make sure it doesn't have anything there. But look in the left side, above where the NPCs graphic is. Under "Preconditions", put [001 Item received] there.

You can have up to 5000 switches I think.

Has other uses too, like treasures. You would do the same thing there. Switches are very useful.

Basically, you turn a switch on (I would make sure to give them a name so you remember what it's for) with switch operations command, then make a new page in the event with that switch as the precondition. You can use them in other ways too, there's an event called Conditional branch, so there you can use that to check to see if a switch is on.
