crafting
crafting is where you have 5 item slots,you can choose raw material items (copper ore for example) from your inventory to fill up the slots,this allows you to create  various items,from pork chops to magical weapons.



gathering
gathering is when you collect items required for crafting certain items,gathering can be mining,fishing,herblore,looting mobs,woodcutting,skinning etc.





story
in the world of elviria,everything was peaceful...until some races began arguing,soon there were to separate sides,each side had 3 races.each side captured certain ares as their own,some areas are still fought over and some areas are neutral,hero's began emerging on both sides,these heroes bravely took on tasks from those around them,whilst the sides are busy fighting,there are things they don't notice,terrible dark things....

good luck at it, making a MMORPG needs lots of time & dedication..
take the game "Tibia" as an example.. it just has 4 classes: knight, paladin, sorcerer, druid ... more than those would be hard to balance for a online game...
unless you want to completely rip off WOW,
which would be just as pointless pointless as this reply xD
