A bit of Character Set Help?

I'm doing a ABS styled game, which is going fine, I have it working except the HUD bars which I am getting too. Now I want to put this sprite. http://www.picceta.com/Rm2k3/img-purple-tiger-71.htm as a character set, but it says invalid image, I change it to 288-256, but when I upload it only shows the background image and not the sprite, if anyone can help, thanks.

well, you know how when you inport a sprite a window comes up with the thing you just imported? Click on the colour you want to be transparent. What ever colour you clicked on should be flashing.
