I look at XP and see how they weren't so lazy on default RTP sets in there, such map variety. I asked someone about the map sets if they have been made for VX and he says they have been but can't find them.

So I am asking if all those XP map sets have been made for VX? I think I should ask here first before going about trying to do so myself.

Not like you can use all of those tilesets anyways. You might as well rip what you want and not all of it.

Well I would use a tileset swap script, BulletXT's to be exact. That one is just real nice with his program and all and easy to understand and use.

True. If you correctly set it up, you could convert the caves from XP all to different VX tilesets and if you placed the same tiles (but the different versions of them) in the exact same spot on each of the tilesets, it would be very easy to map with. You'd just have to map every cave as the same cave and with the script you can just flip a switch and normal cave becomes an ice cavern or lava cave instantly. It becomes difficult when you get down the interiors and towns and such. For small one tile things that you don't use too often, it's best to rip those and place them in a character sheet and use them as graphic events. It saves a tremendous amount of space on those tilesets.

Yeah so I had thought at first before I tried a swap tileset script. I tried BulletXTs and it's just awesome, it swaps the tileset in game so you can see what you are making. You even commented on there. But yeah I get what you are saying, I would try my best anyway to match them in the same areas.

I wonder about making some things smaller though from there though. Some things like tree's and coats and bed's seem quite big compared to the default commonly sized VX character sets. But feel I would lose quality with it and require editing rather than just a simple reduction.

Anyway feel I should just link to his tileset swap script just cause.

Edit: So I am trying out how it'd be to do this, seems simple enough. Will require some work besides a simple paste and I may modify the tree's and bushes so they can be bundled together with ease. Though yikes they sure stand out as looking much better than the VX tiles. Aha, ah well. Maybe I shouldn't trouble myself with this, dunno.

On a side note though, wonder if Mack is going to make a snow version of his set for VX.
