What's a simple app that I could easily download free or otherwise to edit some audio? Just simple stuff like fade in and fade out, or if I'm feelin' risky, maybe attempt to loop stuff.

Also, anyone, other than Arlen can answer. I figure he'd know best with macs and audio editing.

I like to use Audacity, but I'm just a film major. Arlen or another actual muscian would know best.

Audacity does a decent job for PC.

I think Garage Band will get it done on Mac.

I've thought Garage Band. I've only fiddled with it a bit here and there, and it never seemed too difficult. I was just about to check out Garage Band for this too actually.

Audacity hands down, it does exactly what you want and more. Plus there are alot of extra effects you can add to it (pretty much anything you could imagine has been written for it) =o

Oh, I forgot there was audacity on Mac.

If you use Audacity, this is how you fade.

D6. The D above the C that's two octaves higher than middle C. Assuming I'm looking at a non-transposed score, like for piano. If it's for guitar, it sounds an octave lower.

8va = one octave up.
