Exile: Return To Atollyn
Backstory
Spoiler for:
5 years prior to the game, the Kingdom of Tuldun in the continent of Atollyn is taken over by a revolting prince named Tuurnen who is dissatisfied with having his elder brother be the heir to the throne. He begins an expansionist foreign policy, conquering the whole continent in just two short years. Among his inner policies is the crushing of a resistance led by his elder brother Luunen, and the deportation of about a sixth of the population to the freezing mountains of a distant island.

Plot
Spoiler for:
Among the exiles is a Etheliedian (an ethnic group that virtually from it's beginning was under Tuldunite control) 17-year old boy named Fardin, the son of a soldier who fell during Tuurnen's coup d'etat. Wishing for vengeance upon Tuurnen for his father and his mother (who died in the exiles' village about a year before the game's events), he and his best friend Olwyn, an Andhlian (read on to find out more), stage an uprising in the exiles' village that, after freeing the exiles, slowly erupts into a full-scale revolution.

Countries (prior Tuurnen's conquests)
Spoiler for:
Grand Duchy of Andhlia
The Grand Duchy was a wealthy and powerful country, controlling the coastal plains in the southwest of the continent of Atollyn. It's trading empire controlled 89% of Atollynian sea trade and 72% of land trade, one of the reasons for Tuurnen's decision to conquer the continent. It's capital - Atlath - stood by the sea, at a very important trade point by a gulf. As the name says, it was ruled centralizingly by a sole ruler - the Grand Duke. After Tuurnen's conquests it still controls some colonies overseas, and has a temporary capital - Eforg - in a large island off the southern coast of Atollyn.

Electorate of Astorf
In truth, the name lies. Although the people, according to law, vote out a single ruler, in truth there is only dictature and there has never been a vote that hasn't been rigged. It's capital was Astorf, standing inland, but not far from Atollyn's eastern coast. It for virtually all of it's existence has been an enemy of Tuldun, having broken away from it in the first place. It formed from an unimportant trading settlement through a city-state to a strategically strong country slowly taking land from Tuldun.

Kingdom of Tuldun
67% percent of the population lived in the lowland in central Atollyn around the Lake Ulymn, being more of Andhlian and Ulymnian (the indigenous local population) descent than of Tuldunian. Tuldunians (in a whole, 52% of the population were mostly of Tuldunian descent, including the few dwelling in the lowland) dwelled in the Long Hollow around which skirted the very dangerous Emarn Mountains in the north. The Tuldun capital Emarn was strategically located near the narrow Firth of Emarn, what allowed them to collect taxes from merchant ships sailing to Emarn - one of the reasons for Tuldun's unfortunate loss to Andhlians in matters of trade.

Principality of Devrya
As unusual as it is, but Devrya was ruled by not one, but by three Princes who share power and pass it on to their sons. To make a new law, every Prince must agree. This form of ruling was made to prevent civil war.
Devrya was located northeast of Astorf and east of Tuldun, by the Coastal Mountains. Their capital was located in Etyl'don, just next to the delta of a local river.

Characters
Spoiler for:

Name: Fardin Isyldar
Age: 17
Nationality: Etheliedian
Occupation in Exile: Hunter
Personality: Quiet, quick to anger and slow to calm.
Biography: Fardin came from the city of Emarn, capital of the Kingdom of Tuldun - his parents moved there when he was three years old. He grew up as a talented child, especially interested in music and the arts, but once his father had shown him a bow, he didn't do anything besides hunt on his free time. His father was executed after Tuurnen's coup and he with his mother went into exile.

Name: Olwyn Atnigul
Age: 16
Nationality: Andhlian
Occupation in Exile: Fisherman, also trader
Personality: Always happy and optimistic, even in death's face.
Biography: Olwyn came from the region of the Lake Ulymn (if you remember, it's in Tuldunian territory), although for all of his life he dreamed to go to the Grand Duchy and settle there, amongst his people. His father died before he even was born and his mother got married to another man - if you'd mention his mother, he'd probably slice off your fingers. He ran away at the age of 13, but unfortunately ran into a marching Tuldunian army set on conquering Andhlia. An officer found him and after hearing out his story wanted to adopt him, but the army officials sentenced him to be sent into exile because of his "crimes" which were: running away, stealing a chunk of bread, and halting the army's march. From that point, Olwyn hated his mother because he was sure it was her fault for all of his unfortunalities.

Now do you know who I am??
Alright, two things I have to say about this game:

1. Your mapping dosent look all too complex, but theres only two examples, but just work on that a bit.

2. As for your spriter situatuation, someone made a sprite generator, it works well, you can make females, males, teens, even kids, its very customizeable and I wish I had the link, but look around for that.

Good luck sir.

Thanks, I have the sprite generator, but it only gives me the basic needed sprites, I need some more like sleeping sprites, and such.
As for the mapping, yes, I noticed that the first screenshot is a little bare. As for the second one, it's a very well kept castle garden. :P Though I'll probably update both of them some time later.

I <3 SuperHero Holk :)
Story: Your story is starting to sound like a typical country domination story. Its starting to sound cliched to be honest with you. Your characters, especially your main, are quite boring. There is nothing that makes then stand out. (:

Graphics: Your mapping needs work, as there is nothing really defining it. It honestly isnt very good. There is not that much detail. Also, your interior map is WAY too big. Shrink it down. Your character faces show extreme laziness. You didnt even export them to the right size, and instead of fixing them, you just made them bigger and blurry. These kind of things show how commited you are to a project. (:

Other: Honestly, there is nothing really defining this project from the rest. You dont have anything developed and well planned out. You are not thinking out of the box and you are doing things that show lack of effort. I hope to come back to this thread and see great improvement. (:

Story, story, story. And I thought it's my best part. And don't be honest with me. Lie that it's even worse than you said, since all those :)s aren't urging me to improve. :P Yes, my characters are boring... see, there is the fact that these days I don't see a door to go out of the box. Every storyline possible has at least one example of it... Truly, I must say that I am surprised that there are such things as "country domination" games, since I don't have any, I've never heard of any...
Graphics. There are many people sleeping in the same house, and they have extremely little stuff. Back to reality, they're in exile. However, I have fixed many flaws in that mapping, I just haven't updated the screenshots.
I do have a lot planned out. If I'm clicheing it out, it doesn't mean I don't have anything planned out. Yes, I may not be thinking out of the box, but that's because, if you look at history you will realize that there were some repettive events there and if I think out of the box I'll end up in a smaller box with ever-crouching down walls, because what I want for this game is realism.

And the character faces aren't going to be used ingame. >_<
And I never said I'd put effort into this game. This game is simply something I work on in my spare time when I'm not working on another project which is the only one I tend to put into effort lately.
