Registration is disabled. The site will remain online, but eventually become a read-only archive. More information.

RMRK.net has nothing to do with Blockchains, Cryptocurrency or NFTs. We have been around since the early 2000s, but there is a new group using the RMRK name that deals with those things. We have nothing to do with them.
NFTs are a scam, and if somebody is trying to persuade you to buy or invest in crypto/blockchain/NFT content, please turn them down and save your money. See this video for more information.

I uploaded a 200+ megabyte anime episode, and it finished all the way in 10 seconds. It went up by a good deal of kilobytes, and then BAM, it was done all 200 megabytes of it.

I downloaded the episode I had just uploaded, to make sure it wasn't some kind of joke, but no, it really is there in full. How the hell did this happen? My internet was never fast enough to upload 200 megabytes in 10 seconds before! This simply isn't possible. o.O

Unless your internet uploaded at 20 megabytes a second, and megaupload didn't slow you down, it couldn't have.

Quote from: Wikipedia
MegaUpload employs MD5 to identify and avoid the storage of duplicated files. A master server stores MD5 hashes along with their server numbers. When a file is uploaded through Mega Manager, a query to the master server with its hash is sent before any data. If a match is found, the file is not uploaded again. This was discovered by deliberately uploading two files with different content but colliding MD5 hashes. Only the file which was uploaded first remained in the server. Attempts to upload the second file failed because Megaupload regarded it as an existing file.

I found the reason. From now on I'll just check Wiki first.

I've done this numerous times usually with television episodes.
