So I noticed this is the first book thread in entertainment for what appears to be quite a while.
So when WAS the last time you guys read a novel? Shame! Reading very important!
So I read
this as part of a series of related class assignments in "Asian Studies". It's about the Cultural Revolution in China, and it focuses around the story of two teenage boys who have been sent to a re-education farm village.
I can't reveal too much of the story, but they come to "acquire" some forbidden books (that's where Balzac comes into play) and they meet a girl who becomes part of a love triangle of sorts.
It's an excellent story that I just now got through reading. So go grab a Balzac!
OK, my class has an ongoing joke about "Balzac". You probably noticed it too. But ballsack jokes aside, this book is excellent, and now I feel like reading more novels.
EDIT: And yes, I noticed that my description kind of sucks, but that's not because I couldn't say more, it's because I've got quite a few homework assignments to do and it's currently 2:30 in the morning. Just read the book, K?
