Not only does Safari 4 have neat-o features such as browsing your web history in cover flow, but it's the king of browser speeds, once again. Too bad it still doesn't support add-ons, and looks like a butchered Pete with my custom visual style.

Safari takes the gold.

IE still sucks, no matter what version you use.

Ugly ;o;

is there an adblocker built in?
Just the pop-up blocker that comes with most browsers. =o

modern algebra

I suspect that there could be sentient alien life with a faster browser.

Holy balls! I take back all the mean stuff I ever said about Safari. :o

Chase_Leader

From what I have experienced Safari is AMAZING on the Mac but is TERRIBLE for the PC...
I have a PC at home and at work I use a Mac...so I do have the best of both worlds...

Overall Safari is ok, I still love Firefox!

You might want to take a look at this. Not sure if it works, though.

I'll give it a shot later tonight.
if it turns out that works and Safari runs better/can import my FF bookmarks, I'll probably use it.

I have absolutely no issue with firefox and will not sacrifice ultimate customization for speed.

It's barely faster at all, if it even really is. Every browser claims it's the fastest, so who cares? Even if it is ever-so-slightly faster, it's still a piece of shit.

posting from safari.
the title bar looks ugly as sin with custom skins, just like your screenshot, and tabs are in kinda an awkward location.

things are loading quite a bit faster though.

Yeah, Apple actually made it use the current visual style rather than it being stuck on one. They obviously didn't take into consideration the people who use custom ones.

I heard that you can put the tabs under the bookmarks bar using the terminal on OS X, but I don't know if you can do it on Windows.

It's very fast. It actually makes a difference. I wish Firefox were this fast. ;o;

I might start recommending this to people that don't need add-ons. I usually reccomend Chrome for it's speed, but this is faster, so ~

the tabs aren't much of an issue, and perhaps VS support would be better after it's out of beta.  I never really customized FF much, so I may just use Safari.

And yeah, it's quite noticeably faster, RMRK loads in a fraction of a second for me in Safari, where it'd take a second or two in FF.  Every page, every time, it does get kinda annoying when you work faster than you computer :P

Oh yeah, the adblocker clears the ads, but doesn't collapse the frames, which is a partial solution, but not entirely.

edit: wow, my cpu usage with Safari up is really erratic, everywhere from 2% to 91% idle
and it uses a LOT of RAM.

What? RMRK loads almost instantaneously for me in FF, unless the page is image heavy like the Post Your Picture thread.

Roph

Even on an old piece of shit computer (my old one) firefox was fast enough.

Good customisation and extensions are more important than it being able to render pages 4 milliseconds faster than its competitors :)

Also note that in your graph, "minefield" is the name for development versions of firefox, i.e. that's Firefox 3.1 :)
[fright]bringing sexy back[/fright]

:)

wonder why a page loads faster in safari? its loading just the page, not your add-ons. (ad block to block the ad's and ect.)

It's a noticeable difference. I wouldn't use Firefox if I didn't need add-ons. There are some people who don't o=

It's not my graph. .-. When does Firefox 3.1 come out? =O

According to this, Minefield is 3.2. ;o;

EDIT: Seems to be fast. :3

Holkeye

Let's all keep in mind that "faster" means a few milliseconds. These days, it's really just a matter of personal choice.
