[Question] Rotating Graphics (Specifically Crystal)

In RMXP, this situation was easy, I'd just get the even to call images. In RMVX, it's somewhat different. Instead of just selecting one graphic, you select a batch of graphics, and therefore I don't know how to use it.

Specifically, I want to make the crystal cycle through all of it's own animations (there are nine in all). How do I do this?

errm ...

Well, eight graphics are all on one sheet, but you only select one of the graphics at a time. What are you asking?

Ravenshade

I can select the graphics individually if I just click on the graphic space, that much I can do. However, I can't seem to find out, how to change the graphic.

For instance...there is no Change Graphic button any more (if there is I can't find it) on the normal eventing page. I have to go into "move event" Where they do have one.

I click on Change Graphic in the move event, (I can do this either eventing, or on the normal movement route...thing) however when I go to change the graphic, all are selected in the batch. So instead of each individual crystal being selected, all in that animation are selected (and I don't know how to use them).

Currently, I'm trying to work my way around it.

Change Graphic is like changing the whole crystal I think. It'll still appear as one little crystal. It's just to tell you that that is the crystal's animation set.

or so i think

That's what I'm thinking. Hence, how to I get it to cycle?

Oh, I see what you're asking now - just turn on stop animation. Or turn left, turn right, turn up, turn down - I can't remember how the frames are aligned. I think they call it stepping animation in VX, nd it's right below Walk Animation. Justcheck the stepping animation box.

Ravenshade

Turn on stop animation? (logic = out of window but i'll try it). I have been trying to rotate it, and I have gotten it to change through four animations...but there's the remaining eight I haven't managed to get to just yet.

Can I see the sprite sheet you are working on. What do you mean remaining eight? I have to go to class but will help when I return.

Ravenshade

uh....the crystals...just open up RM VX, make an event, change the event graphic to the crystal,0 graphic, and then try to make it cycle through all of the animations, on the spot.

(I also figured out, that putting a stepping animation makes it move up and down ever so slightly, god for a hovering effect)

Stepping animation runs through the walk cycle of the character set.
