I was just playing around on my guitar and then I got these two chords that sound nice together. My guess is that they're A and D chords respectively or both A or maybe neither, lol.

Code: [Select]

|--7-----7-------|
|--6-----7-------|

If anyone could help expand this progression or even go so far as to give me a scale that it fits it, then thanks :D

I'm not good at reading tabs but I'm going to take a guess:

1st chord is F#min7
2nd chord I'm guessing doesn't have a name, if I'm reading it right.

1. Amaj(add13)
2. E9

A major scale.

You're basically playing I - V in A major, but you're using seventh and extended chords, instead of just triads (basic chords).

Yea, I knew it was an A scale but I thought it mighta been a weird one. By Amaj, do you mean Amaj7? Chords really do tend to make a lot more sense when you break them down, lol.

There is no major 7th in that chord, so no. It's just an A major triad, with a 13th added.
