Need help on an Idea..

Hey everyone, im kinda new to this forum and just started up with RMVX a while ago. I recentley had a great idea for a  battle system in my game. If anyone has every played the online game audition, or most musical/dance games (dont really know what to call this ganre) im talking about the arrows and pressing the correct combinations of keys for specific attacks. I was just wondering if this kinda system would be possible.

There is actually a game like this made in 2k3, i cannot remember what it is called or if it even exists on the internet any more, but to answer your question:

Alright thanks for the input. does one know how if i could do this using events or must i use a script. If events could any1 give me some help getting started?

It would be possible with events, but some things are easier done with scripts. I really can't say if this would be better with scripts, but yes. Both are possible.

And as for event help, I'd suggest messing with the event commands to figure out what they do. If you need more specific help, you can PM me or some other eventer on this forum.

Tutorials Database would be a natural place to start. Don't limit yourself just to the RMVX one either - a lot of event commands are carried over from Xp so studying those tutorials will help you a lot as well.

XselmoelmoX, I would suggest not creating such a a game for a first project. Start with something simple and after you've gained enough experience, move on to more difficult projects.

It could definitely be done with events, but you would need to understand the system pretty well first. Like Leventhan said, stick to something easier even if it's just to learn the program.

So basically, what your trying to say is that you want to make a dance dance revolution game. Its gonna take awhile to get done with. Its a good idea though.
