There's this thing called "money", and not everybody has an infinite supply of it. But since I'm the only one on this forum who's ever experienced suffering or this thing called "debt", I'm sure that even if I spell it out for you, nobody here will understand that I can NOT AFFORD another laptop.

Besides, this current one was FREE. It runs games FAST. It works fine. The only problem with it is that it has VISTA. VISTA was NOT made by HP, therefore, SHUT THE FUCK UP about HP and tell me about any special processes I need to do (if anything) and anything I should be warned about before I install XP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I haven't had to get loans for school yet, but when I start again in a couple years I'll have to. But my wife had to take out loans so I guess that works out the same way.

I read the thread, and AnimeFan? You don't need to go back to XP.
If you have, fine. Otherwise, get Vista SP1.
Games now have so many updates to make them compatible with Vista, and if they don't you can run them in compatibility mode.
Plus, with the ability to dual boot your system, you need not go through the process of reformatting.
Just dual boot if you absolutely must have an app on XP.


110k a year for MIT, but thanks to low financial status, 70k is paid for.
The other 40k will hopefully be covered by ROTC, but I don't have my hopes up.
