Help Wanted: Lost Existence

Hey everybody, Likewise here from Maelstrom Dreams Entertainment. We have decided over at MDE to create a freeware title using RPG Maker XP to give everyone out there a little taste of our vision as a game developer.

We've already started development on the title, but of course we can always use additional help creating Lost Existence. Those who help out are in no way obligated to be an official part of the team. Additionally, those of you who are too young to be employees with MDE can still help out with Lost Existence!

Currently we need talented sound artists, skilled 2D artists, and Ruby programmers (RGSS).

A Sound Artist for LE must be able to make music and/or sound effects that are fitting to an old school RPG. Example games which have a similar music quality and style: Final Fantasy 1 - 6 and the Dragon Warrior games.

A Ruby Programmer for LE must be fluent with the programming language Ruby (RGSS). They will be tasked with creating and modifying custom scripts for the project. For examples of custom scripts go through this RPGMakerXP forum and look at anything marked for XP.

A 2D Artist for LE must be familiar with the artistic style of RPG Maker XP and must able to create quality images of any of the following kinds (the more the better):

* Character Graphics (sprites)
* Icons
* Battlers
* Battlebacks
* Animations
* Tilesets
* Windowskins
* Screens (title, gameover, etc)
* Battle Transitions


If you think you can fill any of these positions you can either reply here (this thread or forum) or you can contact me via email. We will approach those interested through PM or e-mail and ask for sample work. Samples for the 2D Artist and Ruby Programmer must be made for and work in RPG Maker XP.

Lost Existence - Short Description
It all began with a spell. A group of powerful mages tried to cast a magical spell to destroy their kingdom's enemies. Essentially they tried to create the world's first mass destruction magic. Man was not made to tamper with such forces. The spell went wrong and cast the world into a state of flux inbetween life and death. To be in such an existence causes great agony and suffering. The misery of an entire world trying but unable to die is as great as magic itself. A creature was born from this, a being with power like a god. Yet the people of the world go on in ignorance, unknowing to what has transpired. All they know is that strange mages have begun to summon horrible creatures and the beasts of nature have gone as mad as the dying world. There are vague memories of the original world before its death, and one adventurer shall go on a quest to discover the truth behind these mental remnants. Will you be the one that finds the Lost Existence?
