Hi, um...Don't have much yet that I have made but here are two enemies and a gameover screen.
Credit goes to David Kohler for the pic of the buttheads, can't remember where I got the other two.

Oh crap I hate to double post but I forgot to mention that I have some
'adult' icons  (along with some other things...) I made but was a little tentative
of posting or even saying what they are. I don't want to get in hot water with
anyone over something so silly so...
Could someone tell me if  I'm allowed to post such things?

Irock

Treason.

Bleck, they look terrible. Why are the enemies floating heads? Why does the game over screen look like you pasted an image into MS Paint, then typed out some text without being creative at all?

Also, go ahead and post your porn. Nobody cares.

Its painfully obvious nobody cares.  :tpg:

Its also painfully, painfully obvious that I suck and
that I am not very good at this at all. I feel so dicouraged!!!
And what is wrong with paintshop? I don't have any other
editing software even if I wanted to use something more advanced.

Well, I agree that the pictures would look terrible in a more serious RPG, they are fine for a joke game, which I imagine this is seeing as the game over screen is a picture of Bush and Cheney as Beavis & Butthead. That being said, having floating heads as enemies is rather strange. I would suggest that if you go that route, you should have no battle background and also remove the background of the pictures. What I mean by that is simply isolate the heads and get rid of the landscape/setting that can be seen behind them.

But yeah, every RPG is different (well, a little bit at least), and so if you do choose to use floating heads as enemies it is fine. The only thing I'd suggest is that you remain consistent in your use of graphical elements. Don't make some of your enemies floating heads while the rest are RTP or anything - make them all floating heads.

Also, you don't need to double post. There should be an icon next to the post that says modify. You can use that to edit your original post.

And yeah, as Irock said, you can post 'adult' sprites if you so choose. Maybe put them in a spoiler labelled NSFW in case a kid accidentally wanders into RMRK.

Also, Paint is fine unless you want to do serious editing. If you want a free alternative to Photoshop, then Paint.NET is fairly good, even though it really isn't close to being as good as Photoshop. For a list of other free programs, check out this thread: http://rmrk.net/index.php/topic,11188.25.html

Yeah, I see your point about my shitty editing not cutting it in a serious RPG game. But I'm not super serious
and my game is indeed a joke game. Thanks for the links, am dowloading paint right now. And at the risk of
sounding completely dense, how do I put the icons in a spoiler? Also, um...I tried cutting their heads out like you
said but it looked even worse.  :-\ Super pixelly. What I wanted to do originally was make them all fancy and give them
bodies so they wouldn't look so retarded, so if you have any idea how I can that would be awesome.

For the image, you would have to upload to a site first. I recommend imageshack.us
