I just created an action battle system. With magic. (Demo up)

It's really fun. I now want to ditch all work I have ever done and do every thing solely on my action battle system.

I can make my guy cast diffrent magic on the enemies at any time (Like fireball), I got the encounter to still be random, my guy can wiew his stats, and use items.

I really DID hate those turn based systems.

I gotta let everyone try this when I make some more spells and battles and stuff.

The demo will only have one spell, cause I started this system late last friday. I haven't had much time to work on it... But I know how to put in other spells. And I only have one type of encounter. (One slime) Right now I am working on two slimes.(Which I figured out how to do, I just need to finish it.) I also have a "hotkey" system, where you can set one spell to the hotkey (space)

And the menu is accessed by pressing c.

Oh yeah, you get to see a custom graphic for my fireball spell. (But it stinks >>)

Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you guys, but this is on Rm2k.

How to fight: (I only have 1 spell so far)

You can cast spells by going to the menu(press c) during a battle and selecting cast. This will cast a spell.
If you go to the menu on the world map and select spells, you can set a spell to the hotkey (Space) for easier casting.
Don't let the enemies touch you, or you will take damage. Oh yeah, the two different random encounters I have are really easy, cause I haven't made harder ones yet.

By the way, you CAN NOT level up during the demo.

How to download:

There are two ways you can download this.

(You don't need the rtp)
You could download http://www.megaupload.com/?d=IZ1RONA2 and start the setup. It should create a folder called "project 2" when you are done. Open that, and run the file named RPG_RT (The one with the icon) to play the demo.

Some pics. (Remember, this is a really short demo. I only worked on it for 3 days before posting the demo.)

So, you get into a battle. (These are clickable)


Then you cast spells to win. (But I only have one now)

The green thing on the bottom is the message window coming up saying how much damage you did.
Yes, I know my custom graphic stinks.

The monsters can hurt you too though.

Message window a millisecond before it says that you took some damage. I HAVE AWESOME TIMING.

And then you go back on the world map, exactly in the same spot you were in before the battle.
And yes, all battles reman random.

Agree, not bad at all.

I know, it kinda does. I just like the fact that I got a projectile weapon to interact with a moving monster.
I have some good ideas for spells, like hitting everything in a line in front of you, creating a magical sheild monsters can't move through,(That would last for only 5 secs though.) and hitting everything in a 3x3 square 5 spaces ahead of you. and a spell that could set a trap that monsters could step on.

Right now i'm working on these spells. They are ALOT easier than making a fireball.
And yes, my grapincs are still going to suck.

I guess I could do gun bullets. The fireball works in the same way as a bullet would.
