[RESOLVED] 2k3 Caterpillar / follow event

I've searhed and only found scripts for xp.  i'm not usin' xp so thats' just no good.  I'm lookin' for an event tha fitsif there is one.
So far i just set an event with the graphic of party member and set it's custom movement pattern to 'step towards hero' and set on repeat.  At the right speed / move frequency that worked fine, but there's a problem.  When you leave the map or (presumably, i haven't actually tested this one) go into and return from a random battle, then the event wheechs back to it's starting point.
Is there a fixit for this?
