I recently got my hands on an old version of Painter.  I decided to try it out and I must say I like it quite a bit.  It's more geared towards painting than Photoshop is.  I experimented a bit with Painter and this is what I came up with.  Pose and costume inspired by a photo I found on the internet.

Back to schoolwork now I guess. =P

Also added this to the Art Challenge under the theme "Pride".

Dwarra?

Her fingers look a bit weird, other than that its great keep up the good work.

Yes, the reason why I left certain parts of this so rough is because it is intended to be my new avatar.  Fine details will be lost once I've shrunken it down.  I've also edited it a bit so it looks better as an avatar.

Yeah, that's why paintings are better be looked from faraway.
The pride of Japanese female samurai, nicely done Alvin-kun!
Are you a painter in real? you seem to know details bout painting, and how you made it smaller for av is a good choice indeed.

She's kissing her...katana? Wow, dangerous mind Al...

Yeah I know how to paint in real life.  I've been painting traditionally longer than I've been painting digitally.

I knew it! Your coloring style is kinda rough, that's because your art style is painting style. :D
From the first glance I know you've been painting in real life. My grandpa is a traditional painter, that's why I know.
Like it or not, you have a fan here! XD
