Help concerning side view battle script (XP)

I used the method from the easy side view battle script topic that was around awhile ago and I don't know what I'm doing wrong

I've gone into Script editor, implemented it exactly as demonstrated but all I get is the XP standard battle system with the sprite sets layed out instead, what am I doing wrong?
