how to script in 2k3?

You can't script at all. Ever.

Yeah. Just switch to RMXP if you want scripts. If not, event it somehow. Some things are impossible to event, though.

i have both versions of rpg maker but i like the battle system for 2003

Yeah, you can't script in 2k3. That feature was only introduced in XP
