Need Help Making Nav-Bar For A Site

Ok guys, I've always used tabs on my site. But, This time i want to make a navigation bar Out of HTML. Can some one tell me how to do this.

so you make one layout, set up an advertisement saying you can do free webdesign and then ask how to do web design. seems a little strange?

id build up a portfolio before doing anything like that.

Just one thing... Use CSS, not tables. And where is the sidebar going to be located? You have to give details before someone can provide you with the right information.
