Simple Event Layers Question [RESOLVED]

With rpg maker 2k3 you could specify whether an event was floating above the hero, or was underneath and could be stepped over.  I'd like to make bugs the hero can step on, but I don't see a "below hero" option in xp.  How could I go about doing this then?

EDIT: I tried phasing but then the bugs run through walls! plus I dunno how to make it when the hero steps ON TOP of them they get squashed.  Anyone?

Well, you could make the bugs on player touch events that change the graphic and sets the bug to through, then moves the player on top of them.
