I'm a horrible scripter myself, so i'm not sure if you would do this with scripts or not, but is there some way to make it so that instead of every character being able to use items from your entire inventory during battle, could you make it so that you can equip up to five items to each character before the battle, and those are the only ones they can use during the battle? kind of like how in kingdom hearts you could put them on the quick use list? i'm not so sure whether I explained that well..anyway, i'd love a script for it if it's possible, thanks!! =)
