I'm not getting way everyone is like, "Vista sucks" the only draw back I've found is running games and its security shit. But really, I find to be okay, I'm pretty cool with it. Anyone else feel the same way or have Vista and thinks it sucks?

Nightwolf

Depends on who uses it. If some gamer uses it, then it sucks. If some one not so gaming and doing some prog which works, then he'll like it.

Also, wasn't XP also shown bad when it came out?
Arlen is hot.

Esmeralda

I am no hardcore gamer, I have Oblivion and Tomb Raider Legends and Anniversary that I run, and even if I use Vista I have absolutely no problems with them. People tend to judge Vista without using it mir >:0

:)

everything is sorta bad on its first release, xp, ddr3 ram, iphone, (psp was alright) even my ipod video had issues until apple released an update. So vista updates will come and will eventually throw it in front of XP
Watch out for: HaloOfTheSun

heh, I say it for three reasons
1) it's not stable *yet*
I'm waiting a year or so, when it becomes stable and actually runs XP programs without problems before I get it
2) 100mb of RAM to run SOLITAIRE (I mean c'mon...)
3) to get back at the people that say that at me for runnng a mac?

Because of the (taking into account the extra stuff it's always doing) insanely huge waste / bloat of resource usage.

To those who say it's "justified" because of the flashy GUI, go install linux along with compiz fusion on a PIII 700 with a geforce 2 or something and watch it fly along doing a gui that can look and act exactly the same as vista with no problems at all.

As for gaming, has any company even dared to release a game for DX10 ONLY, effectively blocking all pre-vista OSes? Games that you can run on both of course run faster on XP (last wiki link above, read).

If a game came out now that I wanted to play and the developer was stupid enough to force vista, I'd get the console alternative (if any) or not play it. Yay for bioshock having dx9.

This is of course ignoring the fact that many supposed DX10 "only" games (including Halo 2 for PC) have been fixed by crack groups to run on XP / DX9. /

ive never seen anywhere a list of functional improvements on vista its all been WHOSH AREO so far. only thing i like is the search bar in the start menu which linux has been doing for ages.

the voice recog interests me but only to goof around with it not to use it.

companies refusing to sell computers with xp installed are also frustrating although i hear its because microsoft have stopped supplying it to the companies.

im either staying on xp or going to linux :D

Yeah I noticed that. For whatever reason I'm using half my RAM and I haven't turned on anything. I may not notice it sometimes because this is a brand new computer.

The only thing i can see bad with vista is if you have less than 2 gigs of ram, other wise you cant really run anything.
