In RPG Maker 2000, there was a default way to make maps loop horizontally, vertically or both ways.  So for example, your world map could be designed so that it never "ends."

Is there a default way to do this in RPG Maker XP.  If no, then is there a script available?

Thanks in advance.

I remember a LONG time ago I saw a script like this. Although I suppose you could use a map transition without blending or whatever it is.

Well, it would involve one parallel process event, but the main problem with doing it with events is that you'll need to build a buffer zone. I.e. about 10 columns or so on the left of the map would need to be reproduced on the right side of the map and about 12 columns on the right would need to be on the left, and likewise for about 9 rows on top and bottom.

This is because you would want to prevent camera shock. I.e. when you are on the far left side of the map your character is on the very left of the camera, but a transfer to the far right side of the screen will bring it so that you are on the far right of the camera. Even though the terrain is the same, the difference in camera is noticeable. That's why you'd need the buffer area. It is however, a fairly simple event when you design it with that in mind.

OOOOH lol,,that's is a VERY CLEVER idea.  Thx modern!

Problem solved,,for now.  Thx everyone.

BTW,,I tried searching for the scrolling map script,,and didn't find one.  But I did find on Phylomortis the scrolling panorama script,,which is another lost RPG Maker 2000 attribute.

No problem, it 's a good solution if you don't have many maps where you want that feature.

I will add [RESOLVED] to the topic title, but if you have any further questions feel free to ask them in this topic
