Nude photographs of Disney star Venessa Hudgens, of High School Musical, have hit the internet

NSFW:
http://www.popcrunch.com/vanessa-hudgens-nude/

Disney most likely fired her.

But I'd like to also bring this up; her myspace:
http://www.myspace.com/vanessahudgens

Look at all the rabid fanboy/girlism in the comments section! All these people saying it's "not a big deal" or it's "okay" or "I still respect you."
How can people possibly respect someone after a scandal like this? SHE WORKED FOR DISNEY!

But then I remember that this is myspace, and myspace is also full of people that pictures of themselves naked. And I die a little inside.

Any thoughts/comments?

This seems like another generic nude case. Victoria Beckham had them too, it'll calm down sooner or later. Besides, she can do whatever she wants and she's just too stunning to be working for Disney imo ~

But it's a little sad for someone to go from Disney Superstar that 13 year old boys and girls watch, to amateur pornstar overnight.

I don't think it will hurt her in the long run, but it will defiantly make Disney fire her, and she'll probably have trouble getting hired for a couple of months.

Moss.

Wow, so far this thread has gotten the exact opposite reception it got on the other forum I visit.

This is actually hilarious, but I think it would make her more popular, don't you think?

A single picture of her naked hardly qualifies her as an "amateur pornstar."

It was an exaggeration; not meant to be taken seriously, Zypher.

edit: Lol, I totally butchered her last name.

What did they say?

Moss.

Most of them called her a whore, irresponsible especially for her position as a Disney star, and basically laughed and ridiculed her.

I got the "Amateur Pornstar" line from that forum and used it here because I thought it would bring lulz.

Heh. I guess my point is, people are saying it's not a big deal because it really isn't that big a deal. At least, it shouldn't be to anyone but her. Unless this is just another Jenna Lewis scenario (in which case I would have no sympathy for her), in the end it's just a naked photo. Okay, so we've seen her naked. So what? It shouldn't affect her acting career in the least bit becaue it's not like the picture was shown to the public with her consent. Having seen her with no clothes on shouldn't really affect anyone's opinion of her, especially when you consider people saw it against her desires. It's a shame for her that this happened, but as is usually the case, things are made a bigger deal than they really should be.

Moss.

And I'm saying it's absolutely pathetic that things like this happen. If you take pictures of yourself naked, or have someone else do it, okay, you're kinda kinky, but whatever. If they end up on the internet, you're a fucking retard, and a bit of a whore, now. And I think it is kind of a big deal, because these people are supposed to be role models for children. And I don't see how the public consent thing makes a difference. Fact is, a barely 18 year old from the Disney network now has photos of herself naked all over the internet. And yes, it does effect people's opinions of her. I don't understand how you think it couldn't. But I guess it all comes down to a person's upbringing and all, but according to my upbringing, taking pictures of yourself naked = not alright.

People request the photos like, every fifteen minutes at 4chan.

Moss.

Uh, the photos have been linked to in this thread since the second it was made.

I agree that this is pretty pathetic and that she should have done a better job making sure that these pictures stayed private. However, I wouldn't go so far as to call her a whore. She has a boyfriend and as far as I figure she doesn't have sex promiscuously.

QuoteAnd I think it is kind of a big deal, because these people are supposed to be role models for children.

Only the stupidest of stupid children would go and say "hey Vanessa took nudes of herself, that's so cool! I'm going to do it right now"

...because it's not her fault the pictures are all over the internet? She took naked pictures for private purposes and someone got a hold of them. She never intended for that to happen, and the only way it would really affect my opinion of her is to think she's irresponsible. But she's a teenager, so that's pretty much a given.

Taking pictures of yourself naked with the intention of showing the public is indeed not alright. However, this isn't the case here.

I wasn't implying anything about being promiscuous, I was implying that having nudes of yourself on the internet makes people THINK you're a whore.

Myspace. Enough said, there. Children ARE stupid.

Not much to argue about, here.

I didn't say she took them with the intention of showing the public. I said taking nudes of yourself in general is not alright. This is where the "individual person's upbringing" thing I mentioned comes into play.
