I am Leaving - Then again why should I ?

Hi guys,

I have pretty much finished my project, and have very little time for making resources now... Kind of lost interest here some time ago, but then got made a MOD of the Resource area, but even that I am getting bored of, it's mainly nOOb's requesting things then never returning... Kind of doing my head in.

So at the moment I am fairly inactive, and to be honest I am not missing the forum that much... I don't see this place as being too creative and the work that used to get produced no longer really is... Most of the Best RPG makers here have also dropped in activity or left all together, the project we all said we would make just has not happened and the Advanced area is as dead as the Queen Mum.

Also I have a few issues with a few people here, who have issues with me, I kind of feel forced out, but to a degree don't care, I feel I have more to offer this forum than the forum does me... Hence why I am trying to find some place that still creates resources at the same rate as I do.

I still have my own site and Co-Run a forum, click my siggy or go to www.xprk.0catch.com if you want me to make some resources or join a project, but at this stage I am looking at waiting for the next RPG Maker tool, if there is one released, I may help out if it's some thing interesting or if you have some thing to offer to my Forum or site in return.

But you are definatly right, the script section is basically the exact same thing as the resource board, everyone in the script section posts a request, and never does anything else. As you said, most of the good rpg makers have left. (To hbgames.org!)

User can setup shops like this one, there is a reward like system, the forum has many great idea's like this one... This sort of system is perfect for me, people only make requests that are serious about making games now.

This is because it's not yet very popular. Even a doubling of the popularity and/or it having "new" members that weren't just RMRKers or hbgames.org guys would get you right back to normal requests.

Oh well, a victim of this I guess. This place's greatest feature and at the same time greatest weakness.

I have never had an issue with people challenging my views, in fact I like that and welcome it... It's not the thenature of ID that I don't like It's the MOD... And that's only part of the reason I am leaving...

One of the main reasons is you have very few members sharing their work, and the work that is being produced is sub standard compared to other sites... I have no one to learn from, and there is no reward in making resources for nOOb's... I am wasting my time at RMRK... SO I am leaving... the only thing that kept me here was ID and being a MOD of the resource section, I have lost interest in debating with 3 or 4 members, as I rarely get a debate, I just get insulted or attacked, it's not a difference of opinion with in a debate why I am leaving (I mean I like different), it's the lack of modding and mutual respect your site now lacks...

I have been offered a better position else where, on a forum that is made for the expansion and use of RPG Making... It's not my Fault if your not keeping people entertained to stay... So me leaving is not down to JUST my personal feelings about ID but a whole host of things, this forum has been loosing members that made me smile for some time... TheBodge, Dox (Blaze), Mental, Blizzard, Nightwolf, SexualBubbleGum (Fuu)... We have also been loosing members that are creative and help-ful around the site, as I say launching their own sites... I have loads of respect for Nouman and Blizzard... So I have joined both of their sites...

I wish they would combine both Forums into one... Doing so would give a Merger that could rival this site for RPG making members (head count wise), but may be not on the board front for open discussion...

But I have joined an Adult debate site now... So I am getting a much better reception there too... And it keeps debating separate from games making... From the time I dropped being active here I have made loads more resources... This place was just not healthy for me...

I was making resources for nobody half the time... most requests came from people that didn't have an active project, and may never complete a project...

Silverline - You have done me some good turns in the past, and I have great respect for you, your a creative person, and your attempts to keep this place fresh are always formost, but your not an RPG maker, and may be for that reason out of touch with the needs of the forum... Halo is the only other real member here who I would say is top of his game in the resources he makes, and I can't see why he stays, he doesn't benefit from making these tunes for any one... I think each of us feels this way, we just need a final push... and for me the lack of respect in ID was that final push.

Welcome to RPG Maker. Population: declining. Whether you admit it or not. Crankeye and the other oldies saw this coming years ago, hence the expansion of the general / other areas.

See above the above I guess. Since you can't see the recycle bin or trash forum or whatever, I guess you don't see how many posts actually are deleted from ID. As well as of course, the afformentioned bans / warnings.

Blaze completely lost it and flamed and spammed literally everything and everyone. He was finally unbanned recently and did exactly the same thing? On top of that he deleted every last wiki article.

Mental

Mental's ousting was similar to blaze's. If you didn't know, Mental is now back.

Blizzard

Blizzard left primarily over something he thinks happened, but didn't. That is entirely his problem, and not mine. Oh, and there's also the whole implosion under the "I am better than everyone else" thing. See the "HOLY SHIT" sticky in EA for a summary.

When did Nouman leave? This is news to me. Nearly all of blizzard's reasons for leaving were either made up by himself, entirely impractical or nothing to do with RMRK itself at all. Reasons which could be valid were taken care of? After he left there were new mods (he thought the current ones were crap, again, his "better than everyone else" thing going off there ~) and forums introduced. I and I'm sure others beleive that the only thing stopping Blizzard returning is his pride.

I don't know whether or not you know, but I still work on music pretty regularly, and still post it. I also apply a license to it that encourages people to use my music for free and they don't even need to ask me? It seems you're making resources only so long as you get praise? I don't expect (nor do I often get) praise for my music, but I make it anyway because I actually enjoy doing it. Do you really want to continue making resources?
