   The Illusion of Earth

A new game based on Illusion of Gaia for the SNES.

I'm Making the game because i liked the first, please note that this is basically a sequel, although not quite because of  the next game in the series already exists. think of it more of a branch off from the series.

 
The introduction.

This one takes place right after the end of IOG, 100 years later.

There is a Boy (name undecided) who lives in a quiet town he lives a normal life with his friends (names undecided)
Until one day.  The day starts off normally, quiet and peaceful. but towards the end of the day at his home He sees something that looks like a ball of energy..as he approaches it,  it changes into what looks like a window, but all he could see was darkness. as he went closer the window starts to fade and then disappears. he thinks he was just seeing things and goes to bed.

The next day continues the same he tells his friends about what he saw, and they agree that he was just seeing things and ignored him.

The same night, he goes to bed without anything weird happening so he finally gives up on what he saw, and goes to sleep. he dreams about the comet that was going to hit earth in Illusion of Gaia as it approaches the earth in his dream he wakes up.

The next day he tells his friends about the dream, and one of his friends (who reads a lot) remembers a story about a comet that once approached the earth, but said that it was just  story.

The boy goes to the library to find the book. after a lot of searching he eventually finds an old book called "The illusion of Gaia", he's not sure if its the right one but he's basically given up hope And takes it with him to his friend, who says its the same book. but the boy is too tired to begin reading it after searching for it for that long, so he goes home to go to bed.

"..no dreams" he thought "maybe it really was just coincidence"
 
The next day, the boy is bored with the same routine so his friend suggested that he started reading the book he picked up. as he reads it, it reveals the story of a boy named Will, and his past. but pages are missing from the book, and he cant read on. he realized how much time he spent reading.. it was already night time. so he went to sleep.

In his dream, he is in the dark space and gaia tells the boy how the comet is approaching and that the light of the comet is beginning to touch living creatures and that they are becoming terrible demons. then he wakes up.

The next day, in the morning, he sees the ball of energy as he approaches it it becomes the dark space when he enters it gaia greets him.

   
now, theres a little more to it, one of the things is a key element in the game, but it would ruin the story if i posted it now.

I can do
basic graphic editing (Color changes, tile set merging, other basic junk)
Very basic scripting (Basically anything with the original scripts, I'm best at menu editing)

I know how to use the program completely with everything else.


I would like some help with the story..and also

Sounds really cool, it is a shame I can't help you. But try and get screenshots from YOUR game, not IG instead. I don't know code, It would take me about a month to get a 5 minute song, and even then it would have to be a remix of another song. And my PSP died, so I can't graphic anymore.

ill put some up soon, but because all my attempts at custom tile sets crashed and burned, its rtp for now

I understand the plot with the energy ball and the darkspace, it would seem like a lame plot if you haven't played the game, but I have, so its all good.

Yeah, I planned to have the story from the first game reveal itself as the game progressed..should i try and explain more so that others would understand?

Now this is where I could help, because I write stories/characters and all that. Don't make the ball of energy seem like a person, more just like a teleporter to the dark plains.

hey, that'd be good..i couldnt think up anything on the charecters besides the one.
i think i have an idea on how to clear that up

Yeah, don't have it react to anything, just leave it still, unmoving, untalking.

oops, wish i read that sooner lol

Question for people interested:..In IOG, the game ends with the world evolving into basically what it is today, should i use modern tilesets, more Rpg-ish tilesets, or a combination of both?
