In ye mythbuster pirate special, the eyepatch myth were true.
Shiver me timbers!

When Adam and Jamie went in with the left normal eye through the pitch dark room filled with pirate obstacles, they were literally blind, and practically hit all the obstacles and failed miserably.
However when they switch with the right eye that were patched a few hours ago in broad daylight, Jamie said"Whoa!
It's broad as daylight here!" And they finished it in record time.

Arrr! Me like mythbusters.
