Like Solidus Snake its an affect from being a clone so rapid cell degeneration happens. I also read somewhere another reason is Cell degeneration combined with stress??? maybe

I'm thinking FOxdie....but the effects I think would have killed him not make him seem older

True. They better have David doing the voice acting still. Hmmm i wonder if they'll still have mgs games after this...

David Hayter has been going downhill since after MGS2. MGS3+PO seems to have him do his hanging voice effect after every word, but not enough emotion, and then try to pass it off as good voice acting. He's even stated (can't find link, trust me on this) that he can't get to the point he was at, when he originally did MGS back on the PSX.

though his voice is still very iconic to me for Solid Snake.

Emotion? Uh, yeah MGS3 had plenty of it. ...Just not from David Hayter's mouth.

Eva delivered most of the emotion in the finale, as she explained what really happened. Snake was nearly wordless, thus that scene was near perfect.

also, Raiden OWNS. Screw the haters. Thought he was badass back in 2 (my favorite MGS), and now he's super badass.

I got number 2 substance finally...And i dunno about big boss, i never played any of the really lod school ones for psx, so that last i heard of him was Portable Ops...

Big Boss turned evil many years after the Snake Eater/Portable Ops Era and tried to create a world just for soldiers. (THat's what liquid was talking about in MGS1/The twin snakes. He was trying to carry on his dream.) ANd he is still trying to carry on his dream of a world for soldiers in MGS4 even though he is dead he is controlling Ocelot(crazy huh)

Hmmm, if I understand this right...

Both Solid Snake and his nemesis, Liquid Snake, are actually clones of Big Boss created in the 70s from a secret government experiment known as the Les Enfants Terribles project (French for The Terrible Children, and a frequent nickname for particularly iconoclastic film directors). While recovering from a war injury, Big Boss' cell samples were extracted and then reproduced through analog cloning and the Super Baby method. The cells were fertilized into an ovum, resulting in eight clone babies, and then planted into a surrogate mother. Six of the babies (later revealed to had only been five) were then intentionally aborted to encourage strong fetal growth with the remaining two (Later found out to be three) clones: Solid and Liquid (and Solidus). Solid Snake was raised in the United States, while Liquid was adopted by the British government. Solidus Snake ended up in Africa.

The real versions were on the MSX. The NES version of Metal Gear was ... pretty bad. It also changed the story. They also had an unofficial (but still fun) sequel to the NES version, called Snakes Revenge. Don't take this game as canon. It is not. The official sequel can be found on the MSX, and also on the second disc of MGS3: S, which is fully translated. I would check it out if I were you. It's pretty fun.
