[RESOLVED] Game ignores passability

I've had this error pop up sporadically: specific coordinates of maps would ignore the passability of the tiles placed on them. I would generally fix this by placing an event there with a random graphic and set its opacity to 0.
However, now I'm getting that problem with an entire map. And yes, it STILL happens when I copy the map and tileset into a test game.

Anyone seen this before or know how to fix it? (ignore the crappy mapping; its half-completed)

It might be important that this map is actually TWO maps that I stitched together (though they both always used the same tileset)

Any help would be nice...I prefer to not have to delete the map and start from scratch :-\

Note: I've never made a game disk or uploaded anything before, so let me know if I did anything wrong.

Perhaps an invisible tile on a higher layer than your objects is doing something =/

If not, you could just copy the map, on to a completely new project (not copying the map file, just remapping it if you will).

1. Theres nothing above them...if you downloaded the project, you would quickly notice that you can walk over almost EVERYTHING...in fact, I believe trees are the only things which seem to register.

2. Are you suggesting this as a solution or a testing phase?

EDIT: I did what you suggested, only copying the tiles used, but this had no effect. However, I did just realize a crucial fact: the passability is ONLY messed up in the section of map that was copied...

what the hell is causing all this? it makes no sense to me... ;9

hmmmmm...I think you didn't fix whatever map you are using good in the "Chip/tileset" tab in the database

Do what now? I DID set all the passability, if thats what you mean...

I downloaded it, but "Basic Tileset" wasn't with it, so I didn't get the tileset :/

Woops, thanks for pointing that out Algebra. I'll try to upload it separately now.
I did some stupid stuff with how I store my resources early on, and I haven't got around to reorganizing things yet.

Ok, do this: Take the transparent tile in the top left. Go on to the third layer, and run over every impassable terrain with that tile.

I think that before you merged the two, you erased everything on that side with a transparent tile that was not the one in the top left. Since passability is inherited from the tile on the top layer, it became passable. But I just tried it, and it works.

Basically, Falcon was correct. It's an invisible, passable tile on the third layer.

Ahh, all begins to make sense...I'll start working on that now, but I think that you're right...its great to have a solid explanation for a previously unexplainable phenomenon...I was starting to worry my RMXP was buggy  :P

Thanks for the help guys
