ok aclhemy has been practised for year. way back beforethe roman times. its not like in FMA how thay can trasmute objests into another object yet that was ever ones goul, but they whonted simple things such as turning lead into gold. but alchemy is dont by ever one ever day persay for exapmle, heating water turning it into steam is a form of alchemy, very simple but we dont call it achemey we call it simple science. but do you think sooner or later this simple form of alchemy will grow to bigger things. i mean they already found a way to turn coal into diamonds and thats a not so simple alchemy.

Mainly changing one thing to another is just complex editing of the objects make up. If you think about it, the law of "Energy cannot neither be destroyed are created" helps support that if we mastered editing the make-up of objects we could remake non-renewable resources.

Actualy Soul (can I just say gongo, or should I say soul), the reason we call it science as opposed to alchemy is simple. Alchemy is a mixture of magic and science. Magic is just magic. Science is just science. Alchemy is the medium between them.

We use convection to turn water into steam, but that actualy comes from somewhere. If alchemy were used, we'd have to produce heat from the air, without using convection (magic) and then scientificly produce steam.

We now know the science behind this and it is called CHEMISTRY. Alchemy had the right idea, but ultimately was all wrong. Alchemy is impossible.

why do i hate religions? cause they prove how much humans can be dumb
it's nothing but the chains of the past and such as those forgetting it is a terrible thing, but living by it is even worse.

as for changing matter to another form

of course it's possible, it's just not often that humans can do it, it's the nature's job and usually it take quite alot of years

you cannot ignore how diamonds are formed, how planets are builded out of the destruction of others and so on.

BUT when talking about "Alchemy" it usually refer to humans using magic to change a thing to another, usually coal to gold

even using science as the "key" to do what nature does, this task is atm extremly hard for humans and maybe even impossible for time being.

so just let nature do it's work, it does it alot better than you could do for at least the next 100-200 years (i am pointing at such a short period of time because the world evolved madly fast the last 150-200 years or so, which is btw because of the fall of the believe that the church knows everything and the bible is always right- resulting in further researches about why and where and how come and all sorts of questions that were only explained by the word god, resulting in improving the human life style by at least 10kk% and resulting also in wars which forced the technology to evolve even quicker, so say what you want to say, anyone who believes in the church's god holds the humanity tech proccess back)

It's ok, since he has contributed something useful to the topic. And he's right about that. Alchemie was before Chemie, when people didn't share their knowledge. But there is more. They believed that combining different elements/things, they could create magic.

If you look at magic as something that is not supernatural, but is simply something that hasn't been eplained, then yeah, I think you could.

But we are working on it. We have actually teleported- TELEPORTED, FOR REALS, one subatomic matierial, over a distance of I THINK about...Well it's less than a foot.

I've also heard since then they have telported a virus 10 feet or so... anways when it "came out" on the other side it was fried and upsidedown.... it seems that we have a long way to go in both cases
