yeah im a geek pick me!

Kokowam

Explain the Theory of Relativity and the E=mc2 stuff. I don't get it.

ahref

right okies

its basically

energy as in heat energy, chemical whatever = mass of an object times the speed of light to the power of 2

easiest example of how this is used is star trek although not real they probably will exist soon REPLICATORS. you must have seen it they say "tomatoe soup" and that appears. in theory that is converting energy to mass using that equation and some technology we dont have.

well i tried lets see if you get it

Kokowam

... But if they have technology that we don't have, you could just say that that technology was made to defy that law. XP

ahref

science fiction has science infront of it because it extrapolates known science into possible science. the creators of star trek probably dont know how e=mc2 works but have inadvertently used it in their theory of how we will store food on a long journey

Kokowam

Oh, I gots a question. How do people come up with mathematical formulas?

ahref

*bangs head* dont ask this EVER. ive proved pythagoras was correct 4 times using algebra and am still finding sheets of paper with paragraph long equations. i did this 2 years ago btw.

ill have a go anyway:
mostly by looking at the varibles and working out their relation.

simplest example is miles per hour.

this uses:
speed = distance/time

i travel 20 meters in 10 mins im moving at 2 meters a minute no wait *gets calculator* yeah 2. dont beleive me? walk at 2 meters per minute and time yourself

ad for more complicated things err ...

Kokowam

That's what I meant: complicated things that involve weird numbers such as figure out how circumference = 2(Pi)r or the Pythagorean Theorum (How he found out that a2+b2=c2)

ahref

shall i scan my 20 pages of equations in..no wait i have a way to explain it:

do you know how to work out the nth term?

eg

2,4,6,8,10

n*2 us the nth term for this

with pythagoras you take each side find its nth term using its pythagorean tripple then use the forumla

a's nth term squared + b's nth term squared = c's nth term squared

using the nth's terms and working this out you should get the correct answer

if i fail at explaining this to you then id ignore it and except that formulas work because i really cant explain this one :P

Kokowam

ahref

okay say we have 3 sizes for sides a and b of the triangle:

1,2,3 for a
2,5,6 for b
4,5,6 for h

we work out the nth term of that sequence ill make them up
an
bn
hn
then we square them
an * an
bn * bn
hn * hn
add them up
an * an + bn * bn = hn *hn

Kokowam

I don't get it... And how could someone just figure that out? Most likely you just knew the formula because someone taught you, not because someone helped you figure it out on your own (not to sound mean, sorry).

ahref

heres one for you:

acomplishments = time put in^10

they had time and no computers

anymore questions no more math for now PLEASE :)

JAP

I hate math >_>

Why are you calling yourself a geek?

Nightwolf

ARE GEEKS FUCKING PEDOS??!?!?
Arlen is hot.

GilgameshRO

Moss.

That's the way Gilga made them.

So blame him.

being a geek is cool :P

q#1: do you have your own bully?
q#2: do people make you do their homework?
q#3: are you capable of creating an a bomb from toilet paper, bunch of sticks and ham? :tpg:
q#4: do you have sex fantasies about you and your math teacher? XD
q#5: the reason i asked 1#1-4: are you ANYTHING like the geeks on tv? (like... say... steeve erkel?) XD

biohazard

Wait, I have sexual fantasies about my math teacher, and I can create a bomb out of just the ham!

Minihobbs

What is the most volatile element on the planet?
What is 0 degrees celcius in kelvin?

Wisdom is knowing that a tomato is a fruit, knowledge is knowing not to put it in a fruit salad.

Currently working on:
Mini-Mini Golf

ahref

okies im gonna just answer them in order that they were asked:

#1: no
#2: no
#3: yes
#4: i dont take maths and even if i did NO!
#5: id say antimatter or francium and no you cant by them at a shop
#6: that would be err -273 kelvin

Kokowam

0 degress Celcius = -273 Kelvin? That doesn't make sense. 0 Kelvin should be the absolute lower, right?

you must have seen it they say "tomatoe soup" and that appears.

Am I the only one who finds that funny?

Edit: I'm trying to think of a question I already know the answer to from when i was in the geek category (age 18-20) but cant think of any off the top of my head, I might actually have to go back, find the few notes I actually took, and find one from there.

Me=Not a Pervert. Purity is wackable. ALL anime girls are 18.  Ok, so 9 and 9 make 18
