Yeah, but so what? Everything falls into place as it should. If it weren't for the steaming turd that is that game and its relation to the downfall of Atari, people wouldn't have learned a lesson from it.

Halo. As much as I like multiplayer, it lowered standards for FPS innovation more than they were before. If only more companies had taken a cue from Riddick...

Like I said...

Alright, so here is a summary...

Games based on movies are usually bad, with a few exceptions.
The Halo games are only good for their multiplayer.
E.T. was horrible.
But some believe that if we didn't have bad games, we wouldn't of have learned from our past mistakes.

Did I get everything?

I think he is making a comment that "would've" stands for "would have", not "would of". It's completely irrelevant to your summary, but maybe he felt it was a good opportunity to mention it.

That probably sounds somewhat spiteful or aggressive, but it wasn't meant to be.  :mex:

Oh, a grammar mistake. And I forgot something...
I'd have to go with Sigma Star Saga. It was WAY to frustrating.
Need to add this to a list. I'm gonna make a list in the first post of games that are bad.

Mario Sunshine.  The game itself was not great (I can't PUNCH?!  AUAGAGGAHH!) , and it tainted every mario game afterwards with dancing singing obese plant men in tutus.  Imagine if they'd just made goddamn mario 128 instead.  Really imagine.  do it now.

Halo is a great series. I wouldn't blame it for the "lack of innovation" in recent FPSs, because that's just stupid. As any Wii fan who doesn't like a game's graphic will tell you, "Don't blame Nintendo, blame lazy developers."

At any rate, I don't think any game should "never have existed." We all learn from our mistakes, right? Bad games and harsh criticism are needed for classics to be born.
Poke!
Can you dig it?

Golden Eye Rogue Agent multiplayer was fun, the story sucked so bad, the approach....  :djang:

But here's my list:

Any third person 007 game.
Halo (way to over rated, both)
Final Fantasy VII
Final Fantasy Online
Manhunt
Madden games
Mortal Kombat (After the first two it got so overrated and it sucked)
Virtual Fighter (All after 3)
Warcraft III
Ice Wind Dale I&II
Need For Speed (every. single. one. sucks. hairy. balls.)
Zelda CDI (Is that what it's called?)
Zelda II
Quake III Arena
Any Microsoft Game
Night Club I, II & III
Pokemon Chanel
Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire
I would say most movie games.

Yes.
Agreed.

As any Wii fan who doesn't like a game's graphic will tell you, "Don't blame Nintendo, blame lazy developers."
What is that supposed to mean?

At any rate, I don't think any game should "never have existed." We all learn from our mistakes, right? Bad games and harsh criticism are needed for classics to be born.

There are games that shouldn't exist, and if we just made better games to begin with *cough*like microsoft needs to*cough* we wouldn't need to learn from our mistakes.

Anyway, that ends my rant, I'm going to make my playlist!  ;8

Not to flame, but Need for Speed was terrible the newer ones are much better, but I still don't like them as much as Grand Turismo II, III and IV, those games rock!
And Halo, the halo games suck, there are so many other great FPS games out there, well, they don't suck, but there's so many better FPS: Quake II, UT 2K3, 2K4, Unreal II, Time Splitters II and Unreal, Halo for PC was alot better than xbox, and Halo 2 was a big improvement, but screw microsoft on releasing it for vista.
Madden: There are so many of these retarded games, the only different is that Madden has gotten fatter. FIFA is up there too, but atleast that's actually fun, I like the hockey ones more.

Mortal Kombat: The games can be fun, but very repetitive, Tekkan and Street Fighter or Campcom vs. ___ all rock, not to mention the great arcade fighters. Geeze, those games make Mortal Kombat look like a piece of dog shit.
Mortal Kombat 2 was my fav MK game, and it rocked, and still does, but the new ones, ehh...
Final Fantasy VII: The game is sickening. It doesn't live up to the former SNES ones, now, Final Fantasy IX is a gem, that game rocks.

Your list fails, because to put Madden and Icewind Dale on there is just ignorant. Both of these series were revolutionary. I don't even like sports games and I know that.

I was never a fan of the Yu Gi Oh TCG video games...

But I loved Halo. Halo 2 wasn't as good as it should have been, but Halo was awesome.

It didn't lower standards, it raised them so high, that the only things developers at the times could do was emulate Halo. It did the same thing for the Xbox that Deus Ex did for the computer.

Also, to say that Halo 1's level design was poor is IMO ignorant as well. Halo didn't have levels so-to-speak. It was a constant, unchanging world. It's a small artificial planet, it's already as complex as it can get. They weren't trying to make an adventure game, they were making an FPS. If you pay any attention, you can see influences from past wars on the design of some of the areas. Except maybe, the hangers, etc.

Is Tiggers are wonderful things
Their tops are made out of rubber
Their bottoms are made out of springs

They’re bouncy, trouncy, flouncy, pouncy
Fun, fun, fun, fun, fun!
But the most wonderful thing about Tiggers
Is I’m the only one, I’m the only one."

Don't try to sugar coat a turd. The Archives level was the same corridor repeated about 8 times, and the last level was a cheap "race the warthog to the end" copout.

They weren't trying to make an adventure game, they were making an FPS.

That's about the lamest thing someone can say, especially for someone who is trying to make games himself. Do you honestly think that a good FPS has no adventure-like qualities to it?

Halo's level design was just bland. People were blind to it for some reason that I might not ever understand. I think it's because multi-player was so damn fun, that it didn't even matter.

Not really. I've never played halo's multiplayer, but I love playing the single player story through over and over <3.

The levels are kind of bland, but when the forerunners built the ring, I don't think they were aiming for a theme park =o

In other words, realistic :)

That's a cop out too. The forerunners didn't build it, Bungie did.

I'm late but I'm gonna put my say in on this list...

Any third person 007 game.- AGREED
Halo (way to over rated, both)- SORTA AGREED (I didn't really play them much)
Final Fantasy VII- It was a little overrated but it was a good game.
Final Fantasy Online- 2 months ago my friend got it... 2 months ago my friend got rid of it.
Manhunt- Don't know
Madden games- Sorta agreed (For sports fans, they are good. I am not a sports fan)
Mortal Kombat (After the first two it got so overrated and it sucked)- Not sure...
Virtual Fighter (All after 3)- Not sure...
Warcraft III- Not sure...
Ice Wind Dale I&II- Not sure..
Need For Speed (every. single. one. sucks. hairy. balls.)- Not all of them sucked. Some were great.
Zelda CDI (Is that what it's called?)- YES
Zelda II- Yeah.
Quake III Arena- Don't know...
Any Microsoft Game- Maybe not all of them....
Night Club I, II & III- the first one was pretty good, but after that....
Pokemon Chanel- Wouldn't know...
Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire- I wish I knew...

Alright, Here is my personal opinion on Halo..
There is no perfect game. Only really good ones. Every game has its downfalls. And I guess the level design was the downfall of Halo. Everything else in it is great.

Hmm... I get a feeling a war might start soon...

A war over Halo is probably the lamest thing I've ever heard. I'm just stating the fact that the levels in Halo were repetitive.
