And here I am once again making yet another topic. However, this one concerns the "Tales Of.." series of games: Wonderous games in which have marvelous music, addictive gameplay and addictive stories. Here is where we shall discuss the game related to the series and our likes/dislikes of those said games.

I am currently playing both Tales Of Phantasia and Tales Of The Abyss. I'm playing TOP on my computer via a ROM and I got TOTA quite recently. I have to say: TOP is MUCH better on the SNES than on the GBA. Much better graphics, mucis, etc. However..I dislike the fact that whenever you attack, once the character finishes the attack he/she rushes back to the last place he/she was standing before pulling it off. It sometimes get's frustrating (though it can also be good as well.)

Tales Of Symphonia is also a marvelous masterpiece in the Tales Series. One of the best RPGs to date and also one of the most addictive.

Yeah, I really like ToS and TotA, especially the action battle system. I haven't played ToP, but I am sure it too is good. Very engrossing games.

You should try getting the ROM for Phantasia. It's relatively easy to get and has a low file size. I just switch between it and TOTA.

You can find it at: www.nerologic.com

I loved ToP, and I bought ToS for Gamecube. I made it pretty far in ToS, but kind of lost interest. It was good though, iirc.

Yeah, TOP is awsome. The GBA version ruins it, though. After playing the GBA version and then this SNES version..I have to say this one is far better.

agreed. The GBA version's graphics are too pale and weird.

The graphics don't concern me as much as the gameplay. It's so much slower on GBA. I rather SNES a lot more. But, it's still fun. The SNES one was also a little more vulgar (but mostly over-done because of the translation group):

LOL, that is how she is, but the translators of the GBA version changed it, so she doesn't seem.............horny, anymore.

thb, I'd much rather have a competent fan translation than an official one anyday. The fans usually don't take liberties in editing.

Actually the translation team for the SNES admitted to exaggerating the text at some parts of the game, and the part on the ship heading toward the next contintent (in the picture) was heavily exaggerated.

Ha, ha. What is supposed to be happening in that particular scene? I don't think I've seen it as of yet. I might have on the GBA one..but it does not bring back any memories =O

Also, for Tales Of The Abyss:

Poor Luke..kind of sad that
Spoiler for:
he was the replica of Ashe. I was thinking it would be the other way around. Basically everyone abandoned him. I suspected Van to be somewhat evil..but I didn't really find him to be the "villainous" type.

The party sets sail on a ship going to another continent and while on deck they meet a travelling mercenary. They all end up inside drinking. Cless and Mint go to bed after a few hours but Claus and the mercenary stay up and keep drinking with Arche sleeping next to them, drunk, with her head on the table. They go on to talk about how Midgard is at war, and out of nowhere Arche screams about...well, see the picture  ;)

In the GBA version, the text is changed. Arche seems to be dreaming about Cress again, but not anywhere as dirty as the SNES translated rom was.
