How to make the character move around???? (ANSWERED)

I don't know how-when I use the arrow keys, the character faces different directions, but does not move. Thanks for any help.

do you press the arrow keys? or hold them?
also where and when does this happen? did you start a new game and try to play it and the same thing happened? also what version of the software.

Oh. I use Verison 2000. I have simply made a character, and some of the landscape, and I have set the starting point. When I start the game (to test it out), the character does not move when I push the arrow keys. I would like the character to move as long as the arrow key is pressed.

Anyone??

welll, did you put him on land? or water? make sure he;s on movable surface

Yeah, I put him on land-on one of those tile surfaces.

Wait, I just figured out he can't move on tiles...or the mountains, either. Is there a way to make the character be able to walk over these terrains?

jsut put some grass first and see if you can walk
