How would I make an event so that when I lose, the battle will end but I won't get a game over?

In 2k3, when you use Enemy Encouter to set up the battle, you can check the Execute Custom Handler in the Defeat Handler and use that.

In XP, you just check the Custom Defeat Handler option in Enemy Encounter. Enjoy.
