I'm having trouble getting the set up correct for a "Event" to Animate the preset "Switch 03" Causing the spikes to come up then go back down and cause 250hp damage. Can someone lend a few helps to me to make this happen? I'll prolly needs Step by step details. Thanks guys.

okay first u make these using the event layer

I used a chest at the right and stuff but thats no big deal ..

so set the spikes out like in the pic and for easy use call them spikes and a switch call it a switch

Now double click the spikes and an window pops up :D

Put it up as Hero touch , through and move event ->
jump so it will hurt u and jump back or something..

Now for the switch to set up.
We want the switch to activate and deactivate the the spikes, not ?
So first we make a page that turns that on

This will activate the switch

now make a new page in the event and insert this

Now go back to the spike page and make a new page too

*brb*

I can do that easy enough, But my problem is getting them to use the 4 frames of animation they have. you can see more of what i'm trying to do in the pictures. I'm going to put spikes everywhere in this floor. I don't the player to see the thing till he walks on it. Then i want him to be able to walk off and the spike to either go back down or stay up. that part don't really matter.

Alright what about this after my explanation

u do this

and this

Now u can copy paste it on the map

EDIT !!

Put page 2 as paralel proces and a wait after the move event and before the switch

Treign

Damn....I was doing it that way....but its so so tedious. I used that approach on a steping switch earlier in the game. When i copy the event it don't work and i have to go in and change it to it's own paticular event. That's alot of picking with it. Like say if i put 50 spikes, there will be over a hundred switches and i'd have to go in and pick around with each one. Is there a way in copying that event so it makes all he changes in its tasks for its own? haha, you may have to carefully read this as i even confused myself.

It works for me..
Ill attach my demo to this reply so u can see

and lol the bridge is uhm.. a litlle fucked up i know

Tell me if it helps

Treign

HAHA, Thats great, i love the jump. Think i wll incorperate that. But yeah it will take along time to get this all working. I have my problem solved but i don't like the answer. I've got to in on each of the 50 or less spikes and change the event to point at itself, you know what i mean. i'm uploading some pictures incase someone else wonders the same thing. You'll understand me when you see them. Spike 1 > Spike 2 > Spike 3 > Ect.....after i copy the same event over and over i have to change that in each one.

I don't know if I'm not allowed to post here since it's resolved, but if you do Set Move Route: Stop Animation ON, it doesn't Stop the animation, it plays the animation when it is stopped (not moving)

EDIT:: Oops Stop Animation is also available under options right under Move Animation. So you don't need set move route.

well in my demo i could just copy paste and that was no problemm..
so i dont see any problems anymore =/

I just made a self switch after the switch is turned on so that you wont have to make a seperate switch for everyone of them
