Energy Bolts

I have a scene in the beginning of my game where a man is opening a portal, and there are 4 crystals floating around it, i was wondering if it was possible to make lightning bolt like beams going from the crystals to the Portal..

BTW im using RPG Maker XP:PK Edition

it's been done quit fast but anyway that gives you an idea (I think what you mean is constant electric shocks that lead to the portal(then you will have to create animation Charset of your lighting from the 4 difrent angle and then animate it with the frame.

Edit: Lol i have just realise i have left another function stored in the +-*/ Key input form another test/tutorial so dont press it or the red crystal will move to your hero lolol v

However i do switch to 2k3 sometimes to make random things

although it would take a lot of work (at least for me) you could always try to make a battle animation that could fit into something like that.

You could you a animation of a lighting bolt going side ways and change its size.
