Hello everyone. I have opened this topic to discuss the game "Children Of Mana" for the Nintendo DS.

I find it to be a wonderful, addictive game with beautiful graphics and good looking enemy bosses. I just bought it today and it has been a great experience so far playing it.

Have any of you played it? If so, what did you think of it? Did you even hear of it, or think about buying it?

Lord Dante

i like it, although i wish theyd at least ahve different icons for each weapon. Besides that, the graphics ARE beautiful, but i prefer expansive RPG to "floors".

I decided not to buy the game because I heard they turned it into a hack n slash...

Big fan of the original one though...

Lavata

A Mana game was once never a hack n slash? o.O I need to find this game!!

lorehunter

Ya I really liked this game. My friend owns a DS and I played it and it's fun. The characters are cute and look funny and original and the new battle system is pretty darn good, reminds me of the Legend of Zelda Series

Final Boss was a let down, though. It was wayyy to easy and HARDLY ever attacked. Still, it was nice.

so

is there a good DS emulator out, yet?

Not that I know of so far. But I'm sure there is one. If there is a GBA Emulator there should be a DS emulator. Check this site out: www.Dgemu.com this is a very good site for GBA,NES,DS,and SNES ROMS. They will probably have an emulator

There are DS emulators out, but they are SO SLOW, and SO LIMITED.

And SO SENSITIVE.

Moss.

I tried one. There was no sound. :(

I mean more so, Secret of Mana had an in-depth story, I heard this one had practically none.

Moss.

Is the battle system one of those "attack and then wait for the bar to get up to 100%" battle systems?

Because I hated that system. :\

I doubt it, they got rid of that after the first one. I don't knpw to many people who liked it ( I may be wrong though... ). Any one here play the translated Seiken Densetsu III for the Snes ( it's a rom )? That game was awesome...

Lavata

The story starts out a tad cliche and such. However, it later developes into something rather good. I like it, I dunno about some of you though.

lorehunter

No I'm with Lavata. I enjoyed that game a lot. Loved the graphics and the story was nice to follow along with.

Yeah. Didn't that one use the 100% battle system, too?

And so did Secret of Evermore.

edit: Seiken Densetsu 3 did have the 100% style system, but there wasn't a bar that you had to watch charge, and the chrage time was much less. But you still couldn't attack twice properly without waiting 1 or 2 seconds.

I wouldn't count Secret of Evermore part of the series, I believe I heard it came out the same time, if not was in development before Mana was. I even remember hearing that Mana stole from Evermore, that's why they are so similar.

But, I could be more then wrong, I'm going on, although be it professional, hear-say.

QuoteYeah. Didn't that one use the 100% battle system, too?
Haven't played it in a while, but I don't remember it being as tedious.
