Ok. Now that's out of the way..

Who didn't see this one coming. Apple continues to play off on the iGeneration by getting an iPod and slapping a huge screen on it along with phone and PDA-like capabilities. I'll say, it looks pretty hot, but 5 or 6 hundred bux? What?

It being apple, I of course hate it and hope it bankrupts them

, though that's unlikely. I can already imagine the thousands iThis and iThat loving apple zombies who'll rush to buy this as soon as they can get their hands on it. This is a nice article.

Some other manufacture is very likely to create an identical device, that is either comparable in features or greater, and you can pretty much bet that it's going to cost less =/.

Whoever says they wouldn't pay a measly six hundred dollars for this is a complete moron. Do you realize what this thing does? It may be marketed as a phone, but it does so much more, like videos and music and images and games. It's pretty much a personal companion, and seeing as how it's Apple you know it's a quality product. You all need to stop being such snide douchebags and realize that this gem of a product is worth every penny.

$500-$600 for a phone with a 2 year contract is nuts. Especially because you're going to be hit with not only the phone plan, but a data plan as well. Otherwise, you won't get to use %80 of the phone's features.

I won't bother, Microsoft is just going to make a ZUNE phone. Which of course will be better. Let apple make their phone and other companies will fix it up and sell it as their own. The perfect buisiness strategy.

The iPhone seems to be getting a lot of negative press. In an interview with Steve Jobs he says there will be no 3rd party applications for iPhone (link)

More so users are upset about being shackled itunes and the itunes music store. (link). It also seems the iPod is running OSX. (link) which begs the question: who really cares if you not supposed to load 3rd party applications??

So just now I tested my sister's Nano by trying to select a song. This quality product locked up and now I have to wait for the battery to die, which will be quite a while because it's fully charged. Of course, this would never happen with the iPhone because it's so complex and so expensive.
