I disagree. Otherwise, they wouldn't have had a shot of his face post-mortem. If they just threw him in a woodchipper, all they'd have pictures of are bloody, unrecognizable pieces.

Zypher the reason the wood chipper is a smart idea is due to how unimaginably pain dying like that would be. It might be more painfull then when he gassed his own people to death.

I watched it more from curiosity than for entertainment. And Djangie's right.

I saw the Saddam video. I still say a wood chipper would of been better.

Actually, it wasn't chosen by the government to choose his execution, it was a traditional Iraqi execution, and I guess he had to wait 30 days before getting hung (hanged whatever you want to call it), after them choosing the punishment, or however you want to say it. If he was executed else where it could possibly insult some of his followers which wouldn't be good, same thing with publicizing it, that's why it wasn't video taped. But someone did manage to sneak in a camera of some sort.

Of course, if he feels no remorse, then it's not punishment. Therefore execution would've had the same, if not a stronger, effect overall.

OK... What if he wasn't hanged at all... What if that was one of his doubles...?

He had loads of them, and Iraq seemed to want him pretty badly... One of his doubles may have given his life for Saddams if his family got paid off...

Reason I say this is Saddam was so Brash and loud throught court, yet at the execution he said nothing he kept his mouth closed, his teeth or voice could have given away his true identity...

I often go with my gut feeling and some thing felt wrong about the whole thing...

Saddam should have been stripped of all clothing and placed into a Boiler suite, as all possetions including clothing is taken before a hanging... His head should have been covered before the Nuse was placed around his neck with a hood... There should have been only one executioner appoint by the court, not a gang of guys... there should have been a police esscort... (this was according to a news report on ITV prior to his death, on how it would take place)
