Everyday I go to school, come home, and go to school the next day. I will do this until I get my job. Then I have to work everyday until I can no longer work. I will lay on my couch until Death finally takes me. Doesn't this actually sum up life? We study so hard only so we can work harder. If we don't study, we are hobos. Life would more bearable or fun if we had some fantasy elements. Like maybe Pokemon, dragonball z and maybe even alchemy. So what are you views.

We benefit from their help via money, furniture, food, etc.
BUT
We work
Which means we have no time to enjoy these nice things we work so hard FOR.

Well, if we don't, why should they?

No one is around to make anything, most notably, necessities like food.

Well, I suppose it's because man is still learning and developing, kinda how like a baby doesn't know not to tear up old music casettes, but we're running out of time, so we need to start learning faster.

Sure work mostly isn't any fun, but life doesn't only consist out of work or fun. If we wouldn't work, we wouldn't see ANY sense in our life, but only working without having any fun will result in a sad life which, yes, isn't worth living. The secret of a happy life is a balance between work and fun. The best is if you choose your profession to be something that you like to do. In other words, having fun to work.
Happiness is the very sense of life. However you turn it around, you will always come to this conclusion. Whether there is a "higher" spiritual reason for life, that is debatable and doesn't belong into THIS topic.

And besides all lifeis about is dying gloriously. Or if you will, gaining as much honor as you can, but to most people that just means being able to look at yourself in the mirro in the morning with out hating yourself.
Also, life can be worth living, yet it is up to the indvidual what to live for. Well Mr.Fu for example has some goals in life you see. I'll list them here.

2. get into a lot more sword fights.
3. Meet a womanses who is worth my time.
4. Putting my career in radio in order, then become relatively well known.
Now not every one is going to share th same goals. But my point is, as long as you strive to meet your goals, then yes your life is worth living.

But the beliefs are different. In orthodox Judeaism(sp?) God has not yet sent a Messiah, and they don't believe that Jesus was God, therefore making their view of God different than a Christian or unorthodox Jew.

Actually, as I said before the views are different and even if the name is the same they're completely different persona. Our God is Jesus Christ, who was the messiah ("God on Earth"), at least in the Christian/Un-Orthodox Judeaism(sp?) view. In the orthodox Judeaism(sp?) view, the messiah has not come yet, so we worship Jesus Christ, and they worship the God of the Old Testament so to say.

That is not a valid definition. Ever hear that you should define a word by using it in a sentance.
EX: Eating is when you eat, as opposed to Eating is when you place food into your mouth, chew, and swallow.
So saying that life is living in full enjoyment does not work.
Behind everything else, what this topic asks is "What is it to live".
Most define life as the proccess of being alive.
Once again this is not a valid definition.

I think that technically life is not worth living. Who would care if I died? I have a pretty pathetic life at 26. I do not have any friends period. It is strange, people seem to not want to involve me in anything. I am usually the guy to help people move, pour cement or be their therapist, but when it comes to actually doing something fun. No one cares to involve me. Maybe I am just some retard and I do not realize it. Maybe I am a prick to everyone and I do not realize it. I have actually been told that I am too nice, so I do not think that is it.
I think what keeps me alive is the thought that I need to find out why people do not like me.
i dont think about death or life. im too busy living.
Some creatures only live long enough to reproduce... so may be thats the main reason we are here...

To be honest in life it doesn't matter what you know, its who you know, or who you impress... If your Exams don't work out, it just means you have to prove yourself in other ways... There's always further education... I could never learn at school... I learned more in the 4 years after school than I did the whole time I was there...
People who say School is the best time of your life are Pricks... the best time of your life is any time of your life, you just have to make it happen your-self

eh...so today, I find out my neighbor's, my friend's, dad died...I found out from the person who carpools him. I asked him why he wasn't at school today and he told me..I felt horrible the rest of the day, and still do now. His dad had cancer and in the last week had 3 surgerys. sucks. I had called my mom while I was at shcool, and she visited their hosue with my dad for an hour....their indian, and my family is pakistani, so we sorta do some of the same stuff when someone dies. Wow I still feel so bad, hes only 14, and his younger brother is 12...

THE BACK STORY:
I found out something really messed up today, if you want to skip the back story, go down to where it says "Today". It is kind of a long story, but when I was 19 (I am 26 now) I had a friend with an intensely messed up sister. Their parents were killed violently. The sister saw them get killed violently. That messed her up horribly. She was put on suicide watches in an institution. She almost killed herself twice, prooving that the suicide watches weren't working. Yeah, she needed to be watched 24 / 7. With people the sister was perfectly normal and not insane. Leave her alone she gets insanely lonely, thinks bad things wants to kill herself.
THE KEEPER:
My friend got a girlfriend, he wanted to go out with the girlfriend, but the whole "my sister wants to kill herself if I leave her alone for 20 minutes," is not a good excuse. So he hooked me up with the sister as a double date sort of thing. We grew up together, so it was like a double date sort of thing. That lasted for a few months. It was fun, and I am everyone's therapist, so I thought I was doing so much good for her! My friend thought she was doing so well too. He could leave her alone for an hour to not kill herself. He would call to check up that she wasn't harming herself. However one of those times where she was left alone for I think it was like 3 hours. She never answered the date, so he went home, she wasn't in the house.
THE DRAMATIC ATTEMPT:
He called me to help find her. Yeah we found her at a bridge going to jump off into a river. I talked her down :-) I was quite proud of myself, but then she took a running head dive off of the bridge. I tried to hold onto her, I went with her. It was 20 feet to the water. I personally think we were in no chance of dying. After that, the state took custody of her, cause she was a minor, and she was instotutionalized. Three years after that, I heard she was much better, released and living a semi-normal life with my friend.
TODAY:
It is now 7 years later and I have not spoken to my friend in 4 years. He filled me in on what has happened over the past month. Apparently there is a warrant out for his sister for the attempted murder of her therapist. He also told me that now she has a 4 year old kid, which is wow! She can't take care of herself let alone a kid! Now she is on the lamb, with her kid, and she left a note at my friend's house telling him that she is going to kill herself... but first she is going to kill her kid. No one has seen her in a week, but it makes me think to just this weekend in Toronto, a woman threw her infant off of a bridge into freeway traffic, then jumped herself. Fortunately I am in IL, no where near Toronto, but if someone else did it. She might too.
So she gave life just to take it?

To state whether live is worth living it, we should state life. What is life? At this point I want you to concentrate on reading this and use a little bit immagination. You are human. You where created by your biological parents by merging 2 cells with eachother. You grew out of it. Now, what makes you think and see the world. What makes you feel emotions, actually touch, hear and taste the world?
Your brains.
Now think how weird this is. Everything is 'registered' by our brains. THey turn light into images, sound into speak, and your nerve-systems gives you the reactions on toucvhing things. Everything that we feel is in our brains. Everything we see is in our brains. Without brains we could not live.
What if everything is fake? That you are actually some supercreature and where dreaming. Dreaming the whole world. All peopel here in these forums are made out of fantasy (in your subconcious off course). Your parents are not 'real' Even the things you eat, drink, computers, school... All the peopel around you are fake. What then? Then I will have no use in reading what you all are going to reply. I mean, it is made up.
I can't really answer the question, nor can I make a sugestion. I have problems in facing life. I do not know what causes life, what it is. I get scared when I am thinking of it. But if this is a dream, (or if it is not,) I would like everyone to make it a happy dream, not a nightmare. Beacuse if you do, you can actually worthly live your life.

One confusing aspect of life that has always intrigued me is the idea of "Free Will."
To me, free will would be being given everything and having our instincts decide whats right and wrong.
But instead, we are all given different body's different situations and expected to play the same game. Is the person who grew up in a christian family given more of a boost than me? That whole aspect really confuses me and makes me see that I don't really have a choice. Every choice i am making is because of people's influences on me. I can't control it. My ideas of right and wrong were taught to me by society, not my soul. Even the language I use to express myself was taught to me. My body was given to me by god/parents. So it seems that all I can do is just be aware of this and go with the flow even if I want to or not. That controlling factor makes me feel kind of pointless, but i'll get over it.
All i can say on this subject is that S-u-i-s-i-d-e is not the answer, yeas i know i cant spell
Hey I'm happy I didn't kill myself those multiple times I thought and plotted it out :-) As it turns out I'm very happy right now. I still don't have many friends, but I get invited to the occassional party and I have one of those girlfriends that every guy would kill to have :-) So don't kill yourself, because life has a timeline, it might take 7 years, but you'll get something that is special and beyond your dreams :-)
I wish life was more exiting. A life like DBZ, Pokemon, something cool would be better. It is lame how we have to waste our childhood and teenage years studying so we can work at an office for the rest of our lives... :(
One thing that keeps coming up about a job if you don't wanna work in a office than work to get a job thats more interesting. Also suicide is a last resort in my eyes its a way of saying "fuck u god i quit" but i still hate people hurting them selves, life sucks but if you let it get to you its gonna suck a hole lot more.

One of my old music teachers from High School killed himself with carbon monoxide in his garage, and it was pretty fucked up. I was friends with his daughter, and later found out that he was diagnosed with colon cancer, and his wife was leaving him. Its sad when it happens, but I think if you have an incurable disease and you make the choice, its not unforgivable. Most of the time when people talk about suicide though, honestly I ignore them. I know its bad, but most people are pussies that think "suicide" is a magic word that makes people pay attention to you. So I don't.
I think people suicide cuz they think there is no point. If you keep failing your tests even though you study everyday, you really get ticked off. Some people take that to heart and think there is no use for to be alive. It is really stupid. Everyone has a place, you just have to find it.
There isn't a point to life, really. All I want to do with my life is see everything. See and understand. I could care less if all the celebrities were killed, and different races put back into slave labour, I don't care as long as it doesn't affect me. I might help to free people, but just because it would be something to do, not because I realized they needed help. The government, credit cards and cars have no pull on me, and the media doesn't influence me. I am a white suburban kid that was raised by the internet, I have no care for life.
Well, there is actually a point in life. To reproduce. That is the ultimate goal as animals.

I do have opinions, quite strong ones, if you actually read my posts you can notice this. I often disagree on certain points with people debating alongside me and point this out, but this does not mean I'm just being contradictory. Also, I'm still convinced Masturbarney would change his mind in that situation.

Life is worth it until you think you really really really cant go further because than its just better to die i mean who cares ?
Suicide is only the answer when death is the only way out, and I do not mean if you think your white suburban life sucks and your parents don't understand you. If you are in a hospital ward for 3 years, always in pain, not able to do anything, then I would not judge you at all for suicide. Mercy killing is the only killing I condone.

I have something to say. If anyone doesn't like life enough to stay alive, then by all means do yourself in. Just don't bitch to me about it when you wake up in a hospital bed with a tube stuck down your throat and I don't rush to your side weeping to the heavens. That is all.
I love my life, but sometimes I'm bored too.
When I was in 1st year of Grade School, I was really bullied. My brother was too busy with his study (he's in Junior High).
So I'm all alone. Nobody wants to be my friend, and I'm too timid to complain or strike back.
I was just really weak. I was a weakling. I was a coward.
But then, in 3rd year, I start to change. I don't want to be alone at school.
So I kicked those bullies's asses.
They hate me.
I DON'T EVEN CARE ANYMORE.
That's how I turned into an ignorant girl.
Now, I love my life so much.

I think life is worth it, even though I have a very routen life. Wake up, go to school, come home, go out with my friends for a bit, come home, eat with family, go to martial arts to train to be in the UFC, come home and watch the nfl network. then on weekend i see my nono and nona. But life is great!!
I think as long as you do something you like or love makes life alot easier. So get a hobby I guess?

If you don't like life, do something that us with lives can't. Do something productive like play World of Warcraft, beat world records, become the next BATMAN, solve world hunger, or something. Those who have no lives are the only ones that can make the world a better place. ;D
so obviously, try to preoccupy yourself with something. So you won't feel all alone n all, eh?
Something I found is you need something to consume your mind. Like you need to use your imagination to keep your mind away from life. I took up writing. Writing about something else, keeps your mind off of how sad you are and its productive! Before I would draw, but that wasn't consuming my mind, because as I would draw or do something productive, but it wouldn't consume my mind.
But with writing, you get lost in your own little world :-)
