Book of Shadows: CMS
May 26th 2012
Request: taken by HungrySnake @ RPGmakerVX.net
SummaryFor my game, Duskwind (http://rmrk.net/index.php/topic,46068.msg524057.html#msg524057), I need a custom menu. Though, not just ANY other custom menu.
Since this game is about a person who starts on her quest to take revenge and finding out (s)he is different from others as (s)he can use the powers of the shadow. In the beginning of the game you need to take the backpack and the Book of shadows from your home before you can go out.
So if you haven't taken either the book or the backpack yet, you can't open the menu (can do this with an event!)
I also want to use a different windowskin in the book than the one I use in the game.
You are allowed to use scripts from other people to combine with the book.
Just let me know which ones and in what sequence to insert all of the scripts used.
If you have any other questions about what I want, don't be afraid to ask!!Features Desired
- Three pictures as a menu: A backpack, a book and a text-image saying "End Game"
- For Inventory: categories + on using an item or equipment: "Equip/Use" - "Drop" - "Nothing"
- On pressing ESC or X return to the first page of the Book of Shadows (where to choose the "chapter")
- Chapter 1: Save Game
- Chapter 2: Status
- Chapter 3: Skills
- Chapter 4: Map
- Chapter 5: Quests
- Chapter 6: Bounties
- Chapter 7: People-files
- Chapter 8: Monster-files
- Chapter 9: Collections and Trophy case

MockupsAttachment 1: Take the info from above.
Attachment 2: This is what the menu should look like.
Games it's kind of been in
- Bethesda Games:
- Fallout (Pip boy)
- Morrowind
- Oblivion
- Can't think of any other games right now
Did you search?YES
Where did you search?
- This place (as is the scripts section)
What did you search for?
- Skills by use (Script in use)
- Custom menu's
- Quest menu's
- Map scripts
- Much more
But these are not exactly what I need...
Thanks for reading and thinking about accepting this request!
If there are no people willing to try this one out, you can use it for many purposes though...
Just be so kind to read through what I want and give it a thought :-[
I found someone who wanted to help me out a bit... But is there someone who can help me out any further?
This sounds like something interesting I could do as a shocking return to scripting. When would you need it all done by?
Also I'd have to pester you a lot to get specifications right. Just warning you.

When can you have it done? As what I've tried out now somehow still is not what I want it to be but it gets close...

Don't worry about that... I've got time enough to answer all of your questions and whatever you need.
You can even add me to msn if you think that's easier...
I'll have a lot of free time after the end of next week. Is that soon enough?
Also I think we'll be fine talking in PMs.
Sure, that's soon enough...
It's not like my game will be finished by then either. I've got a whole lot of work still to do :-[
But I want to test the quest and bounty systems when working on it instead of having to insert those later.

So can I make this reserved for you or not?
It'll be the first thing I do on Monday.
And it'll probably take a couple days.
@Pacman: Are you still up for the challenge? Or should I return this topics state to Available? Though, I'd really love to see my idea for this über-fabulous menu system to come to life by the hands of the brilliant Pacman!
Gosh, that sounds a bit like you being Frankenstein to some monster-script-requests here on RMRK!! ^-^
Perhaps maybe you should look for someone elsewise, someone who's a nowhere near as Pacman as I am.

Oh, alright then... I guess I should wait a bit more until someone else is brave enough to even think about taking up this quest as you did. Sadly enough, no other might even consider that.
Is there anyone even reading this? Should I even ask this here or should I go some place else with this script request?
The main problem is that a lot of scripters have moved on to RMVXA and aren't too concerned with VX Scripting anymore.
The only person I know who is taking VX Requests is HungrySnake, you can request here (http://www.rpgmakervx.net/index.php?showtopic=55511&hl=).
If I were to request this for VXA, would anyone take my script request??
Or am I to create this script on my very own from scratch?
Or is there perhaps anyone willing to help/guide me through doing this?
