Upgrade to XP?

Though, why would you want to use DX9 instead of 10 if you're already on vista?

My card cant do DX10, but it still uses it, =/

And vista works fine :P

I assume you are saying you want DX9 because you got an error saying that you need certain DX9 DLLs?

You can always download the certain DLL files that you need, then place them in your system folder (that is what I do anyway).

You know DirectX is cumulative, right? So you could run a DirectX 6 game on your DirectX 7 card through DirectX 10?

DirectX10 contains all the technology, APIs etc that DirectX 9 has. If your card is only DX9, then it will only use the DX9 calls obviously.

The lower performance is because you're on Vista, not because you're using DX10. Basically, you think you know what you want but you're wrong.

My recommendation is again to upgrade to Windows XP.

Ok i think i explained it wrong >.<

When i used my card in DX9 it was able of higher graphic settings than when it uses DX10.

._.

And again Vista isnt that bad  ;8

As when i used XP i had no sound >_>

vista requires more graphical rendering from your card because it wants to be cool. xp keeps things flat and to a minimal theres no transparency or stupid visual effects.

more video ram used up by your os = less to the games = it cant render the game as detailed as vista has its size 20 foot in the door.

upgrade to windows xp

vista isn't really that bad, it's just that it's too far ahead for the time being. In a few years it's going to be amazing. I still remember the same skepticism people had for XP when it first came out, but now everyone's praising it. Just give it time.

Well it is 1gig, but it steals some of my 4gb RAM and makes it 2gig ._.
